Garth Brooks was the best selling male act of the 90s as MJ kinda slow down in sales since Thriller. Garth Brooks broke records as a country male act to sell a lot of copies of his albums in the 90s. Sadly, if Billboard did not made a rule not to include country songs in the Hot 100 charts? He may have hit number 1. The Dance from his debut album would have hit big on the hot 100 in 1990. Then follow up on his No Fences album, he had bangers like Friends In Low Places, Two of A Kind, Working On A full House, Unanswered Prayers and The Thunder Rolls which got his video banned from playing on CMT. Those 4 and The Dance hit number 1 on the country. In the 90s alone, 17 number 1 hits, 27 top 5s, 29 top 10s, 31 top 20s, and 34 top 40 hits. In overall total, 18 number ones, 13 more top 10s that never went to number one, 7 more landed between the top 10 and top 20, and 20 more top 40 outside the top 20. He got 75 total songs on the country radio charts in his lifetime, and still hitting the charts recently.

Not only that but every album she released in the 90s went number 1 in over 150 countries (no other artist has ever achieved that height of success) AND AND AND shes is only one of women in music history to have all of her albums sell a minimum of 10 million each. she should be number 1 on this list CMON MOJO! DO BETTER!

My favorite albums from the 1990s are Nevermind from Nirvana, Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette, The Bodyguard Soundtrack from Whitney Houston, Music Box from Mariah Carey, Lets talk about Love from Celine Dion, Aries from Luis Miguel, the Self titled Spanish album from Laura Pausini, and theres others

Shania Twain is an icon and my family would often put Come On Over on. I just saw her in concert recently. Shes 57 years old and puts on a SHOW! Absolutely fantastic.
The Spice Girls were my WORLD, Spice and Spice World were on repeat constantly.
And of course Millennium, and Baby One More Time were FANTASTIC and I adored listening to them regularly.
Damn the 90s had great music.

Love the idea behind the video. I do give major props for mentioning Sarah McLachlan's Fumbling Towards Ecstasy but that opened up my interpretation of the title into thinking #1 would be Alanis Morrissette's Jagged Little Pill; I'd say they're both more in the alternative rock category, but would love to see them both mentioned in future videos on other topics.

This list is all kinds of messed up. Brandy and Monica had one of the biggest hits and two of the most successful albums of the 90s, TLCs fan mail was the comeback nobody saw coming, and no Janet in sight? I think its important to remember how mainstream Rnb was in the 90s and how pop music was mainly filled with crossover hits.

Dangerous will forever be immortal! Of course it was number one on this list. You cannot top the King of Pop! This is actually my favourite album from him other songs that I loved was: In the Closet, Who is It, Give in to Me, Dangerous, Gone Too Soon and Will You be There. Everything about this album is perfection.

I would swap Celine's Let's Talk About Love for her Falling Into You. Falling won the Album of the Year Grammy, had more hits than LTAL, and start to finish is just a better album altogether. IMO anyway.
