Key things for me:
1] I like to believe that the William Gracey mentioned in this movie was either the brother or cousin of Edward from Eddie Murphy's movie, and, during their lifetime, the two men bonded over their hopeless romantic natures.
2] The doom-buggy chair reminded me of the movie Casper, specifically the scene, where the title character takes his love-interest to the mansion's basement for the first time. That moment was probably inspired by the Haunted Mansion RIDE, though.
And 3] I would've been shocked as hell, if you DIDN'T cut to Scar, after bringing up the It's A Small World theme song. When that bit started, I thought, Three. two. THERE'S Jeremy Irons! (10/13/2023)

I dont see how most of these are details that you missed in the movie practically none of these were subtle and were very easy to spot? A better title would have been nods to the ride or something like that
That said, I LOVED this movie! So many details and nods to the ride, references to the ride lore, and an overall good story too. It had a similar vibe to the Casper movie with Christina Ricci, in the way that it balanced humor with more serious themes (grief/loss.

How the hell did you guys miss the detail that we get to see both the Disneyland and Disney World/Magic Kingdom mansions. The movie's plot happens in the DL one yes, but at one point 3 characters must visit the Hat Box Ghost/Alister Crane's mansion which looks a hell lot like the DW one. That was an awesome nod to both rides! Also the graveyard puns! We see the graveyard puns in the film!

If Disney makes more movies based on attractions, here's the ones I want to see the most:
DInoLand USA (see how a sleepy town became a dinosaur boom and how the Dino Institute came to be)
Expedition Everest
Kilamanjaro Safaris (the original dark story would be perfect, with poachers being the antagonists)

I have something you're a lot more likely to have missed.
Just before going into the attic, the characters remark about it being cold. Well, on the ride, there's a big hidden air vent just before the endless hallway that's supposed to create a sharp drop in temperature. Problem is, everyone assumes it's just the air conditioning and not part of the show.

Best Easter egg goes to Crump Manor just because of its name. Yale Gracey was the imagineer who created many of the special effects found in the original attraction. However he had a partner in Rolly Crump. Its so nice to see Disney acknowledging him as well as naming both the main villain and the other manor after him

Ive been waiting for this movie since 2020 and the wait was worth it, saw the movie on release day and 1 week later for the 2nd time, got excited from every quote taken from the ride and other refreshing and every time the theme/ song from the ride played during the movie

When you mention the room stretching up or pulling down-its both! Well in a manor of speaking, in DL the room is secretly an elevator bringing visitors to the ride loading area, in DW in Florida, the room is stationary, but the ceiling is pulled up!

Disney is a sad disgrace.
The pandering to blacks in the media and in commercials is getting way out of control and it is blatantly obvious. smh

By far the best _Haunted Mansion_ movie out there, aside from the Muppets one. All the ghosts look so good, the cast was great, and I love all the references to the ride.
