Hum sure miss the innocence of dance like Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds & Gene Kelly, Singing in the Rain or No Business Like Show Business. Sophisticated Ladies Gregory Hines.
Or James Cagney as George M Cohan down the stairs at end of Yankee Doodle Dandy. yeah I'm old Look it up. now that's dance

Great video but two OBVIOUS choices were ignored: Antonio Banderas & Catherine Zeta-Jones dance in The Mask of Zorro (1998); Jennifer Lopez & Richard Gere dance in Shall We Dance (2004!
Also, Tom Cruise in Risky Business (1983, Madonna in A League of Their Own (1992)

reply

Salmas snake dance is definitely top tier. But her dance with Ashley Judd in Frida will always be my favorite! Then theres Regina Halls strip dance in the Best Man. And the dance scene in Deathproof. All underrated imo
reply

#5 should've been #1 - I went to the movies with my cousins and friends to see this. When this started you could hear a friggin' pin drop. I would also add Antonio Banderas and Pierre Dulane in Take the Lead
reply

I would also include Chris Sarandon (Jerry) & Amanda Bearse (Amy) for the Vampire Dance Seduction club scene in Fright Night (1985.
and place Cell Block Tango and El Tango de Roxanne higher on the list.

_Flashdance_ is such an underrated film, and the He's A Dream sequence is the best part. The part where Alex gets drenched is simply iconic, and been imitated countless times.
reply

El Tango de Roxanne is the best part of Moulin Rouge for me. The music, the singing, the choreography, the editing; it's all phenomenal and gives me chills every time I watch it.
reply

I like the 'Flashdance' but Jennifer Beals had a dance double (who was also the stripper in Streets of Fire) and Cynthia Rhodes's dancing is more than note -worthy in this same flick.
reply

Centre State not a classic? Bite your tongue bc that was the dance film for a generation and there would be no Step Up, Save the Last Dance Honey or Take The Lead without it
reply

What do you mean Center Stage didn't reach classic status? Cult classic status is all this movie has that's why it's in your radar because fans have been asking for it
reply

FYI. the main reason really for the silhouette scenes in Flashdance was to hide the fact that Jennifer Beals was not the main dancer. it was Marine Jahan!
reply

Rest in peace, Patrick Swayze. He was one of my first crushes as a teenager, and he had energetic dance moves. He'll be forever missed.
reply

And when you consider that Catherine Zeta-Jones was about 4 or 5 months pregnant when Cell. Block Tango was filmed, it's a real event.
reply

The dance practice scene from Anne With an E. sure, Anne and Gilbert are only 16 but you can see how they were feeling afterwards.
reply

Anyone surprised that no take the lead dances or the shall we dance? With Richard Geere and Jennifer Lopez made it on the list?
reply

Oh yeah! plenty of heat to go around! Thanks for introducing me to a couple I wasn't aware of too! Added to my TBW list!
reply

Speaking of Catherine Zeta-Jones, the dance scene from The Mask of Zorro somehow didnt make this list. How?
reply

Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever
reply

Come on pulp fiction number one and may be urban cowboy honorable mention. John Travolta, give me a break!
reply

Don't forget: Katrina's intro from Vamp, Tired, from Blazing Saddles, and Perhaps, from Strictly Ballroom.
reply

The Tango from Take the Lead that Antonio Banderas dances should AT LEAST be an honorable mention!
reply

Salma Hayek in From Dusk til Dawn should be number 1 hands down. It shouldnt be number 5. Travesty!
