Mine is an unpopular opinion, but I have always felt that King Charles was maligned by the media, which in turn formed a general consensus of poor public opinion. In reality, he is a extremely intelligent, enlightened and uniquely forward thinking man. For heaven's sake, he's had nothing better to do with his life than be all of that. I have always wondered how everyone who shames him might have felt had they been forced to stop loving their true love in order to put on the ruse of an arranged marriage. Those with the Diana was beautiful, Camilla is ugly need to grow the eff up and realize how shallow they are. Diana did not get a fair shake in life, though she did know what she was signing up for, but King Charles definitely did not get one either. If you can't see that, you need to go on back to your National Enquirer because there isn't much hope for you to look at things with a fair mind.

It isn't unusual for the heir (in this case the Prince of Wales) to have the desire to carve out his own sphere separate from that
of his father, the king. The wrinkle in this tale is that the monarch is a female. In addition, the late queen, had the monarchy
thrust on her at a young age and also when her children were very young.
It is kind of difficult to rebel against one's destiny and the dominance of the monarch when that person is also one's mother.
Prince Philip, although, I am sure that he loved his eldest son; was not the type of person to rub salve on the wounds.

While the very last scene will, undoubtedly, be a tribute to both the queen and Prince Philip, a scene or two before that could involve some foreshadowing to the current state of the monarchy. For instance, there could be an exchange between William and Harry about romance and marriage, during which the former talks about Kate, and he asks what type of woman the latter would pick as his future wife. Harry could respond with something like, I want someone like Mum. Everything would then freeze, before cutting directly to those final moments I've already mentioned. (11/7/2023)

I thought the way season 5 portrayed sensitively and sensibly the war of the Wales' showing humanity on each side (personal bias towards Diana on my end, I am sure they will do the same for the first half of season 6.
I am less enthused about the wedding of Charles and Camilla than I am about seeing how they say goodbye to Princess Margaret.

I really hope they have a flash forward scene to her last first PM meeting towards the end of the last episode. That was a really big moment for I think because she probably new it was going to be her last so it would be right to give wait to that.
We all know she stayed alive just to spite Boris so he wouldnt be her last.

This 6 is all BS. Awfull! They blamed her death on the Al Fayed family the worst way possible! False accusations zero evidence, character assassinations. Afraid of the FIRM? There was no need for this storytelling wise. I hope they get sue to Kingdom Come!

I just can't get over what 'Camilla' and Charles did to Diana. I get that Queen Elizabeth wanted harmony and continuation for the monarchy but not queen Camilla! I'm not a British citizen so my opinion doesn't count. Just throwing it out there.

I think if itll be cool if Imedla looks into a three-way mirror and on one side we see Claire, the other we see Olivia and the main mirror is the actual Queen.
Or a time jump to the announcement of her death with Duck Shoot playing.

A prequel surrounding Queen Victoria would be phenomenal. Theres literally countless states, cities, natural wonders, et in her name. Shes still the UKs greatest monarch and she barely even concerned herself with politics

All these alternative storytelling-choices, one might think this is actually a tv show based on historic events and not an actual documentary. Gosh, who wouldve thought that about a tv show based on actual events.

They did such a good job with the actress portraying Camilla. The horrible hair style, the horrible clothes. The personification of dowdy. The only thing is the actress didnt quite capture her horrible gait.

Strong recommendation to watch ahead of time:
1. Queen Charlotte
2. The Young Victoria
4. Victoria and Abdul
5. The Kings Speech
6. The previous Crown seasons

reply

Just remembering the trailer where Charles was praising Diana makes me furious just thinking what he did to her from the fourth and fifth season. What a hypocrite!

Please stop the before we continue' part before the #1 thing, we all know about alerts! And why keep showing same clip of Ross and Rachel fighting?
reply

I don't think that I'll be able to watch the recreation of Diana's inevitable death, as well as everyone's reactions. I'll likely be sobbing so much!

They are monsters who get money when they have more money making money off the money. ITS INSANE MAYBE IN SEASON 7 THEY MURDER THEM ALL FRENCH STYLE

I'd love a prequel to The Crown. Victoria's kids being flung across Europe, Queen Mary being amazing, the Windsors being a nightmare. It's all good

What would I think they should do at the end of the TV show Queen should look into mirrors and see your young self and the self before her
reply

I wonder how they are going to handle Diane's death and if they put a glimpse into Queen Elizabeth's death at the end.
reply

Just noticed contrast between two interviews of William and Kate, and His Dad and mom. The mood, the body language.

9/11 and the Queen's instructions for the band to play the US National Anthem during the Changing of the Guard.

Olivia Colemans seasons took you into the early 90's not the late 70's as Margaret Thatcher resigned in 1990.
reply

I'm so excited but nervous at the same time. I feel like the 6th season is going to have a lot of sad themes.
reply

I feel like the show should end with the queens death. Starting at her reign and ending would be so perfect
reply

The fact Netflix is making Diana pregnant with Dodi Fayed baby shows how desperate and pathetic they are
