Even Avatars need a laugh! Our countdown includes hybrid animals, Sokka & food, Zuko's anger and more! Which ATLA running gag do you think is funniest? The Last Airbender is a beloved animated series that captivated audiences around the world with its incredible storytelling and diverse, well-developed characters. One of the show's strong suits is its humor, which ranges from clever wordplay to physical comedy. In this article, we will explore the top 10 funniest Avatar moments that left us laughing out loud. 1. Sokka's "Cactus Juice" - One cannot forget the hilarious scene where Sokka accidentally consumes cactus juice, leading to some outrageous hallucinations. From his ridiculously funny moments and nonsensical rambling to his confused and disoriented state, every second of this scene is pure comedic gold. 2. Aang's Disguises - Aang's ability to disguise himself often results in some hilarious situations. Whether it's his old man disguise, complete with comically large mustaches, or his attempt to pass off as a Kyoshi warrior, Aang's disguises never fail to leave us chuckling. 3. Momo's Pranks - Momo, the adorable flying lemur, often finds himself in situations where he can't help but play amusing pranks on the other characters. From stealing Sokka's food to mimicking Aang's airbending, Momo's mischievous escapades provide some light-hearted moments throughout the series. 4. The Ember Island Players - In a clever parody of the main characters' storyline, the Ember Island Players theater troupe unwittingly performs a hilariously inaccurate retelling of the group's adventures. This meta-commentary on the show's own tropes and quirks adds a refreshing layer of humor to an intense storyline. 5. Toph's Bluntness - Toph's straightforward and unfiltered personality often results in some side-splitting moments. Whether she's making sarcastic remarks or playfully teasing her friends, Toph's bluntness never fails to elicit laughter. 6. Iroh's Tea Obsession - Iroh's obsession with tea is both endearing and amusing. From his elaborate tea ceremonies to his poetic descriptions of its aroma and flavor, Iroh's unyielding love for tea becomes a recurring joke that never gets old. 7. "My Cabbages!" - The Cabbage Merchant's unfortunate encounters with destruction have become an iconic running gag throughout the series. Every time he pops up, it's almost a guarantee that his precious cabbages will meet a comically disastrous fate. 8. Sokka's Boomerang - Sokka's weapon of choice, the boomerang, often takes on a life of its own, leading to some hilarious moments. Whether it's Sokka getting knocked out by his own boomerang or it miraculously coming back to him at the most opportune times, the boomerang provides ample comedic relief. 9. Appa's Shenanigans - The group's lovable sky bison, Appa, often finds himself caught up in humorous situations. From his disheveled appearance after a long journey to his clumsy antics, Appa's presence brings a lightness to even the most intense episodes. 10. Zuko's Angsty Outbursts - Zuko's struggle with his identity and inner demons often results in some unintentionally hilarious moments. His over-the-top angry outbursts and brooding expressions have become iconic and have been parodied countless times, adding a touch of levity to his character arc. The Last Airbender has no shortage of funny moments that bring laughter to viewers of all ages. From Sokka's witty remarks to Momo's playful pranks, these comedic elements play a significant role in balancing out the show's deeper themes and intense storyline. The humor of Avatar adds another layer of enjoyment, making it a timeless series that continues to bring smiles to fans worldwide.

If I lived in the Avatar The Last Airbender universe, I'd want to be an Earthbender. & of the 4 main animal companions of the show (Sky Bison, Flying Lemur, Polar Bear Dog, & Fire Ferret) I would most want a Flying Lemur like Momo as a pet. Also, I once read the creators of the show had an idea where some humans in this world when they die get reincarnated as animals, & Momo was Monk Gyatso reincarnated as a flying Lemur so he could watch over Aang. Ultimately, this idea was dropped from the series, though as far as I know they never do explain how Momo survived at the Southern Air Temple by himself before Aang arrived.

No question, Avatar The Last Airbender was the best show to ever air on Nickelodeon, & Avatar The Legend Of Korra was also good despite having more problems. Also, if there ever is a new Avatar series about the Earthbending Avatar after Korra, part of the plot needs to be them searching both the human & spirit worlds for a way to reconnect with their past lives, & we could see some unseen adventures of each Avatar in the process, as well as setting the series into modern day.

And this is why I always loved the character toff, because even though she might happen to be blonde, she s one bad ass chick and she doesn t let her blindness control her or define her and as somebody who is legally blind in orange, gonna be fully blind someday let s just say Susan Idol for me when I first found out my destiny with my vision, loss, journey, still is

I would really like to see an Avatar tv show that follows the lives of the 6 named Avatars before Korra & Aang; Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk, Yangchen, Szeto, & Salai. Sure, we have the novels & comics that explore their lives a bit more, but it would be cool to see more of the 6 of them in an actual tv show.

The Toph is blind jokes are some of the best jokes in the series. They're always hilarious while still being tasteful. They work because they're never negative, Toph makes a lot them herself, and she's so capable that if not for the constant reminders, it would be easy to forget.

Originally the cabbage man was supposed to be a one-time thing. I m glad they changed it to a running gag because it s my all time favorite. When they referenced it in The Legend of Korra ( Not my Cabbage Corp! ) I very nearly died of laughter

one of my favorite jokes in the entire show is a blind joke: where they have to hide underground and
Sokka: Its so dark down here, I cant see a thing.
Toph: oh no, what a nightmare.
Sokka: Sorry.
gets me every time

4: 11 Fun fact: all of Sokka s drawings for the lost Appa poster were actually real-life children s drawings that the show s creators used for the episode. (Source: the DVD episode commentary)

Toph and Sokka always had me rolling with their dry humor and Toph just being vicious with her insults and Sokka just being done with everything just made this series funnier

I may be a little bit biased here but I believe the blind jokes should have been number one. She inspired a lot of my own blind jokes that I still make to this day lol

Penchant for tea? More like addiction. If tea vanished, Uncle Iroh would go on such a rampage that all avatars and Ozai together better make way.

I really, really hope the Netflix adaptation gets it right this time. Unlike the M Night Shyamalan one. And also, it premieres on my mom's birthday!

The Cabbage Merchant is my most favorite gag from the show. Never a dull moment hearing him cry out my cabbages! Always funny.

Anyone else glad that the VA of the cabbage merchant is going to be the actor that will give him life in the live action adaptation
