Top 10 Romance Movies People Love To Hate

For this list, were looking at romance movies, rom-coms and comedies or dramas with a notable romantic element, that, even within a genre that gets a lot of flack, fairly or not, wound up being greater magnets for scorn and mockery than their contemporaries. Weve included movies like All About Steve, Jersey Girl, From Justin to Kelly, The Bounty Hunter and more! Want to

I just despise this genre as a whole, the films brainwash so many into thinking this is how love is meant to be without allowing you to make up your own mind, singles are shamed and need to be immediately paired up and by the film's end the main female protagonist is supposed to be married and either have had a baby or be expecting, real life is not like this but so many believe this fantasy and when their romantic rosy vision doesn't come true they are shocked, keep your thoughts as individuals do not let these 'movies' make you think any differently they are only entertainment

I actually think Jersey Girl is kind of underrated. As a rom-com it may not be great but if you look at it as what Kevin Smith was trying to address which is a movie about the relationship between a father and his child than its perfect. You know this is what Smith was trying to do when you watch the end credits and see he dedicated it to his recently deceased father. So to sum up the best way to enjoy Jersey Girl is as a father daughter relationship movie.

I remember being obsessed with Twilight from 6th grade to 9th. Then I found new interest in high school, went through many phases and forgot all about the Saga. I believe it was senior year in high school when I tried watching the first Twilight again and realized it was incredibly dreadful.
Does this happen to anyone else? You rewatch something that you use to enjoy, but your opinion about the film/tv show changes later on in life.

So, I was one of those people that hated Twilight movies. The writing isn't great, the acting isn't great, the special effects, etc. But when I read the books something changed. All the little details and emotional struggles that they leave out of the movies made the characters more interesting to me. I was able to watch the movies in a new way and I LOVED THEM! Slightly obsessed now and always #teamjacob

I really, really dislike The Notebook, and I always have. I'm honestly not a fan of most romance movies. They seem to teach women that they can fall in love with any loser and change him. That's not the way it works, and trying to change anybody is a waste of time--for you and the other person.
reply

That's right, you better acknowledge how amazing The Notebook is!
Also, look I'm very much a liberal feminist but I love the Twilight series and Fifty Shades. They're somewhat guilty pleasures, but also sometimes you can just like something. it doesn't have to be perfect or a masterpiece.

reply

I like the first Twilight and 50 Shades movies (not so much the following ones. And other than The Notebook, I like other Nicholas Sparks adaptations like Message In A Bottle, A Walk To Remember and The Longest Ride, and I've might enjoyed The Last Song more if it wasn't for Miley Cyrus.
reply

Twilight is truly a movie people enjoy hating.
I mean girls in my school actually judge each other on the fact that do they like twilight or not?
I mean it's truly hilarious that people enjoy criticising it even though it's kind of their guilty pleasure!

reply

When you passive aggressively have a love/hate relationship with Fifty Shades and Twilight because you were born and raised in Washington State and hate so much that the geography was so blatantly disregarded within the series themselves.
reply

I can't blame people for hating Twilight considering that Bella's a Mary Sue and Edward's a Gary Stu. And with 50 Shades of Grey inspired from Twilight it doesn't surprise me as well why it sucks. The book itself is an insult to writers out there
reply

how DARE you put Nicholas Sparks on this list! His books/movies are my favorite. But I'm a sucker for corny romance movies, so I'm biased. Best of Me, The Longest Ride, The Lucky one, and the list goes on, are AMAZING movies!
reply

I feel steven king most horror writer adaptations Nicholas sparks is most adaptation of romance genre steven kings adaptations can be hit or miss nick most miss his romance adaptation are pancake fluff in bad way
reply

The Nicolas Sparks movies aren't that bad except notebook which I hate but a walk to remember is the BEST romance movie I've ever seen. Notebook is crap compared to walk to remember

And twilight was the one that started the hot vampire thing, if you like shadowhunters, the vampire diaries, the original or literally any show with a hot vampire, ITS BECAUSE OF TWILIGHT
reply

I love the Twilight series and always will, those books helped me through a dark time in my life. The movies brought me and my sister closer so their place in my heart is cemented.
reply

The only good Nicholas Sparks movie that's is great is A Love to Remember. The Notebook is so much better in the book, the movie is just good when Ryan Gosling is shirtless
reply

Well what did you expect fifty shades was adapted from twilight (Fanfic) what did you expect from its offspring that's why it's number 2 it's successiding their predecessor
reply

hm well this is totally inaccurate. because i hate everysingle romance movie. if i found out a piece of fiction is prominently romance then i blow it off except one
reply

Well I liked Valentine's Day and for those Nicholas Sparks movies, I didn't like the notebook (it's an ordinary Love story) but I somewhat liked the other ones.
reply

I hate idea fact of the vampires have given birth to babies instead of ileagy adopted kids turn into vampire what made inview with the vampire so cool
reply

I guess I have awful taste. I liked The Ugly Truth, The Bounty Hunter, Valentines Day, all the Nicholas Sparks movies, Fifty Shades and Twilight.
reply

To be fair, All About Steve is a play-on All About Eve which focuses on a woman with mental health issues. It was bound to be disturbing
reply

The 2 things I love in valentine's day are Taylor Swift and the story between Ashton and Jennifer. I haven't seen most of these movies
reply

No ms mojo you may say so for all Nicolas Sparks films except walk to remember. Don't u dare insult that beautiful movie
reply

I'm here to see how many movies I like or even love that I'm gonna keep it to myself to avoid haters annoying me for my tastes.
reply

Ok Im going to say it I dont care that everyone hates Nicholas Parks movies and the Twilight franchise, therere still great movies
reply

What is this horrible blue top Kelly is wearing? And why is she grinding like that on Justin? Early 2000s was a weird time!
reply

I love twilight there is absolutely nothing wrong with his films and people who hate them dont know what theyre talking about
reply

I just do not get how Fifty shades of grey is romantic. It's basically a movie about abuse, but it's fine bc the guy is hot.
