I certainly wouldn't expect it to be number 1 objectively speaking, but man, the scene with Barney and his father was the most memorable and hard-hitting to me - I always tear up when I see Barney's deep pain as he says why couldn't you have been that for me! I suppose because I cared about someone when growing up who had a different but similar experience with one of her parents. Just as Barney's whole life and personality was deeply affected by the actions of not having a dependable father growing up, only to see that he got his life together after the damage was done to him, so too was her life screwed up (as mine as well, to be honest, only for her parent to get her life together after the damage caused by those critical 15 years was done.
Anyway, that's always an emotional one for me to watch, and his delivery of that line was absolutely perfect.

I feel like Tracys death should be the first, I mean that I love the gang except Lilly and Barney but when Tracy first appeared on the screen, I loved her more than I loved the gang itself, the ending is a main reason why my love for HIMYM got less, even when I found out it wasnt on Netflix anymore it didnt make me upset, Ted found his soulmate and got married, why do they get him and Robin together by force? Tracy was the only one that Ted never thought of Robin while dating her which shows how much he loved her and they didnt even show a scene of the mothers funeral and probably the gang trying to make Ted feel better, the mother deserved so much way BETTER

idkw, but another of the saddest moments for me is when Ted is talking with Robin at the beach before she gets married, then we realize she wasn't there and he was again just imagining talking to her, all alone, then she starts to drift away while the night is ending because he has to let her go and say goodbye to her forever
(even when we know how the series ends that part gets me hard, even more than many of these moments)
_still there's nothing more devastating like the #1, for absolutely sure_

4: 25 a long and difficult path to a marriage that lasted what, two episodes? Yes I'm still mad about that.
Also Robin's not having kids does not belong that high up imo. Yes it's an emotional moment but it gets dampened by the fact that she didn't want kids in the first place. Tracy talking to Max belongs much higher up in Contrast imo.
Marshall's sadness is authentic because they did this scene in one take without telling Jason Segel what Lily would say to Marshall.

When Robin is feeling low, Ted is there to cheer her up
When Lily is feeling low, Marshall or Ted is there to cheer her up
When Barney is feeling low, Lily is there to cheer him up
When Marshall is feeling low, Lily or Ted is there to cheer him up
When Ted is feeling low, he is all alone
I hated Ted in first season, I thought he was desperate, but as the series progress he became my most favourite character, his flaw is what makes him relatable.

I know this has nothing to do with the video. But Robin became my least favourite character. She has that attitude of wanting something she can't have. In Last forever pt1 she said Ted was the guy she should have ended up with. And Ted was happy with Tracy. Her screaming at Patrice and trying to sabotage Barney and Nora's relationship is not a good look

While I unequivocally agree with the list, they missed to include any honourable mentions particularly the scene where Marshall has to confront Lily about taking the job as a judge and having a bitter argument and eventually realising what a douchebag He and in the end realising Lily was pregnant with Daisy through Ted's amazing detective work

Am I the only one who got fed up with the whole Ted/Robin thing? It made that abrupt ending with Tracy's death and Barney divorcing Robin all the more irritating to me. Hence why I always switch off the last episode early -- seeing Ted/Robin reunite doesn't satisfy me, it makes me want to lob things at the screen.

Killing the mother of the show is not right and i got something to say that about that when Ted first started talking to the mother and he wants 45 days with her and just let her be and the tv network people needs to put her on the show like for 3 more seasons and seeing the mother in the hospital bed breaks heart

I like that Marvin's death was no. 1. I was expecting it to be Tracy's as she is the main character's future wife and all. but it makes sense that it's Marvin bcz we've knows him longer throughout the show and we've also made a special bond with him. like it's not only fr 1 season we've heard about him.

My mom has said the same things lily said here at 3: 30. We've had conversations and still to this day she says them which sucks because shes the only parent we have but at the same time she stays. She is the one who stayed.

Marshall finding out his dad passed away is one of the saddest moments in tv history because its so real and genuine.
Jason Segel had no idea Marshalls dad was going to die and he was so saddened and shocked.

Ted was always alone, but he never let's Robin being sad alone. He was that guy who always secretly loving and helping Robin, the secret admirer, unsung hero, and that was very sad, throughout the series

If I was Ted, I could see eventually hating Robin. As she picked the most BS person. I would also break up with Barney as best friends don't date their best friends ex. (unless maybe best friend dies)

The season finale of episode 9 seriously has to be saddest and most satisfying way to end such an amazing comedy.
It even reminded me of my amazing ex girlfriend whom I just broke up with

It really was a great series (in spite of the ending. The reason these moments were so sad is that we were so invested in the characters.
