Top 10 Disney Songs That Shaped Our Childhood

we re counting down the Disney tracks that delighted us as kids and have stuck with us as adults. Our countdown includes Toy Story, Aladdin, Mulan, and more! Did we forget YOUR favorite Disney tune A Whole New World > Friend Like Me. I love Friend Like me but A Whole New World is more of my childhood than Friend Like Me. It's the reason it's one my favorite Disneys songs ever (it would be #1 but that Jasmine song Speechless from the Live Action beats it.
I do have to say thank you for including Why Should I Worry in honorable mentions. Aladdin and Oliver were my childhood and my 2 favorites Disney movies.

Thank you for the update, MsMojo! For me, the best of the best was 'Once Upon a Dream' from Sleeping Beauty. I watched that movie for the first time in kindergarten more than 40 years ago, I was amazed to realize how beautiful that song was. Cinderella's 'So This is Love' was amazing as well. Also, I don't know why they cut out 'Human Again' in Beauty and the Beast though. That was a good song to listen to.

You'll Be in My Heart and I'll Make a Man Out of You were the first two songs I ever learned as a kid. Listening to Disney CDs on the long road trips to my family cabin, I learned to love many of these songs, but the two I mentioned mean the most. Today, I am preparing to release my own songs on Spotify, and it all started by squeaking out Phil Collins and Donny Osmond.

Some of these films I haven't watched in years. Aside from Tarzan and Mulan, are the one's I haven't watched very much.
I'm 35 years old, and I remember watching all the other movies on VHS. I still know the lyrics to these songs. Some songs, they're just buried in our heads for life. It's more of a treasured memory from my childhood.

Some of my earliest memories of watching Disney are watching some of the original Disney movies such as Snow White, Bambi, Dumbo and Pinnocchio. I watched pratically all of the Disney princess movies but those are my favourites because they caught my attention and even now as an adult, those are still some of my favourite movies.

While Lion King has some bangers the nostalgia floods in for me with Beauty and the Beast. It makes me feel so magical and I end up humming it for hours afterwards. Also want to give a shout out to Oo-de-lally from Robin Hood. That is a very nostalgic movie for me and is still one of my favorite Disney films

These particular Disney songs did more than just shape out childhood, These are the Disney songs that help us get through life even when we're adults you can always count of these classic Disney songs to give you the confidence to push past every day trials and tribulations!

I listened to most of these numbers on three of the Classic Disney: 60 Years of Musical Magic CDs and I recall listening to the Tarzan CD a lot as a kid. I'll be hard to make a song that could be on par with any of these, but I am willing to take that challenge.

Alan Menken was a great composer who was responsible for the music for Disney's Golden Age, including The Little Mermaid, '' Beauty and the Beast, '' and Aladdin. ''
Especially Something There, Part of Your World and A Whole New World were great songs.

I grew up with 8 of the 10 and every honorable mention. As a mentally disabled kid from the late 90s growing up, these made my day. To this day, I still find it hilarious as to how the animators got a bunch of feather dusters to dance without hands in be our guest

These songs shape my childhood in so many ways. They bring me lessons to learn, beautiful songs to memorise so that I can sing to myself, the stories to enrich my imagination and to appreciate them as a grown up with the child within. A wonderful list.

My favorite Disney song is Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride from Lilo & Stitch, which is my favorite Disney film.
Also in my perspective, this song can actually describe someone wanting to be on vacation and not leave when it's over.

Circle of life definitely is a showstopper of a hit and the one song from Lion King I applaud for its cinema magic. Of course it was trumped by Pocahontas' Color of the Wind afterwards. Songs with nature in theme tend to work with me.
reply

For me Colors of the Wind is my #1 cause it really informed my relationship with nature and others different than me growing up. Also Everybody Wants to be a Cat is up there too cause I'm such a cat person. Otherwise, decent list.

I almost stopped watching after Randy Newman bc I absolutely despised that song as a kid, the worst part was seeing it in the theatre and not being able to fast forward, glad I could just jump to the next song here
