Friends is what you say when you aren't interested in them anympre, but you feel bad for hurting their feelings. and i love you/not IN love is what you say when you care about their well being and if their happiness, but they aren't what you need in a partner. Basically you think that they are a good person, but you don't think that they are the person who will understand you and make you happy. It's legit if you don't use that cliche wording.

wow I think my ex watched this because he said it all except the you deserve better part. With a bonus of your pretty but shes prettier you understand. also people with aspergers don't have feelings and I think you would be a terrible mother because your immature and like to blow the paper off straws you think painting canvases for a living is a job hate to break it to you it's a hobby and you like cats but no hard feelings.

I can't tell how many times in high school and college I was told something like that: You're a great guy, any girl would be lucky to be with you. just not me.
