I have always disagreed with the line Love Means Never Having To Say Youre Sorry. As far as I can tell, Love means being smart enough and self-aware enough to recognize your own faults, mistakes, and screw-ups and being willing to not only apologize, but also being willing to put in the work to repair the damage done by whatever idiot move you made. It doesnt make sense to say that just because you are in love you shouldnt have to apologize when you screw up. I may not have been in a romantic relationship yet but what I do know is that if you truly love someone you are willing to accept them for all of their good and bad qualities and to be willing to forgive eachother when you mess up because no one is perfect and the sooner we accept that the happier well be.

The Goodbye Girl should have been higher on the list. Plus you failed to mention that Richard Dreyfuss won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance.
Romantic comedy roles that win Oscars don't happen that often. Some past winners do include --
Clark Gable for It Happened One Night in 1934.
Jimmy Stewart for The Philadelphia Story in 1940.
Goldie Hawn (Best Supporting Actress) for Cactus Flower in 1969.

the 70s was a weird decade in the romance genre, it was sort of the really confusing inbetween stage between the really conservative and the open and often controversial, it's like they hadn't completely gotten the hang of which lines to cross and what they considered romantic, so the end result was either boring or slightly disturbing. Even grease, which is the only movie i actually like on this list, has somewhat of a questionable message.

Love Story isn't really that good, mainly due to Ryan O'Neill's whiny acting and the fact that in the beginning at least, the main characters don't seem to talk like real people; it just seems like they're trying to outwit each other. Grease is also an overrated crap fest with a poor love story and exaggerated characters, some of whom, aren't actually that likeable.

#7 Last Tango in Paris I heard she was actually rape. Apparently she didn't know they were doing the scene with the butter so all her reactions are real. I've never seen the film so I'm not sure if it should actually be here?

I just started the videonand right now I'm hoping Grease is at Number 1. Like if you agree! Grease if still the word after 40 years! Still timeless! I have it up on my list with the Star Wars trilogy, and that's saying alot.
