I would like to interject one thought about all of this: Yes, I too wish there had been some women on here who are not considered plus-sized, as body positivity truly is something for everyone.
I will say this as a big girl with absolutely zero self love: There is something so inspiring about seeing women owning their bodies and trying to live a better life. That is so awe-inspiring to me. In fact, Target's new swim campaign with models with stretch marks actually convinced me to buy a bikini, something I swore when I was 16 that I would never, ever do. I nearly fell out when I discovered Ashley Graham and between her and the Drag Queens on Drag Race, they've really put things in perspective for me. While I still struggle to actually accept myself and treat myself better, it's the visibility of women who look like me that help me to realize that I may not be fat and worthless, doomed to balloon and be ugly in tee shirts and jeans for the rest of my life. That sounds dramatic, I know, but that is the intensity with which I feel my own self-hatred. I think that there is something truly beautiful in here, especially for women who are trying to start losing weight and Doug better for yourself. It's nice to know that I can be a thicker girl and that someday, somebody will find that beautiful.

I do enjoy plus size models promoting body positivity, but there's definitely a certain standard to be considered plus size. Ashley Graham and Megan Jayne Crabbe are plus size and I especially love Megan because of her past and how much happier she is. However Tess Holliday considers herself a plus size model and so does Glitter and Lazers. Their body types shouldn't be the ideal for young girl and adult women. It's 1 thing to show people can be in all shapes and sizes, but these body types can't possibly be healthy. I'm not calling them fat, I just think unless they see a doctor and their doctor told them they are completely healthy, then I can't get behind what they're selling.

Seeing this list, I hate to say it, but I don't agree on the obesity. I'm not condoning to be skinny skinny, but having to say to women that size don't matter, unfortunately that is not the case. When I was younger I hated my body, it ruined not only my life, but my health as well, but I don't want to be in the skeleton body, I am eating healthy, workout everyday, so with that being said we are living in reality that telling us somewhat different on how our bodies should be.

And now we are gonna read about how 'thats not healthy, they need to exercise bcoz 'obesity' is bad'
Yes, obesity is bad for your health. But you can be big and have better health than most thin ppl. There are other factors that can make you be fat(and no, its not an insult, not just bcoz you have an eating disorder.
Its great that the yoga instructor show that you dont need to be super skinny to achieve those poses.

Anna O'Brien is easily 400 pounds. I do not want to purchase any clothing she wears because none of it fits her right. Coats don't close, shirts don't make it below her backside. I'm grateful when I see her that I am not her size. Then there's the arrogance when she speaks. People pointing out the health risks of being her size are labeled haters. It's disastrous.

Oh my gosh, Tess Holiday. This is not healthy at all, she looks as if she could have a heart attack any moment. Being positive about how you look is definitely important, but presenting a woman who is undoubtedly at her death weight is horrifying. This shows young girls that it's ok to be that size, when it most certainly is not.

Why is body positivity only associated with plus size women? what about muscular women and athletes who don't get much representation either? I get that body positivity is supposed to be inclusive for all different shapes and sizes, but doesn't using only certain types of body types as body positive defeat the purpose?

You can say someone can be plus size and healthy, definitely!
But dont be a hypocrite and go on to say all skinny girls have eating disorder/ anorexic. I am 40kg (but I am really short) and I am born this way! Also, I love eating!

Yeeeee! My two queens are at the top! I love Ashley and Iskra. They've been such a huge inspiration to me in my journey. I'll definitely have to check out some of these other pages, though.
