Great level, with lots of really great moments. Like the one when Mario's in that little 1-mario high hallway with the falling walkway, and a fireball coming. High tension out of an actually really easy scenario. Same with the skull platform near the end, which threatens to fall away, but lasts just long enough to get Mario to the other side.

Please play my level in the style of a Zelda I dungeon. It took me 2 weeks to make! I've tried my best and spent a super long time trying to recreate the feel and aesthetics of the original Zelda title. There's a degree of non-linearity and also a big secret, although it is not necessary in order to complete the level. 35F5-0000-008E-1306

-Legend of Peach- (229A -0000-006B-CB7A) If you like the zelda/metroid style boards, this one's for you. Sprawling overworld with multiple dungeons hidden throughout, each containing a power up needed to access the next/final stage and boss fights. Truly epic guys, check it out!

Not bad at all, probably the best level yet. I think all that really was missing was better decoration. (by shaking platforms you can get various background types which can change the feel of levels quite a lot, even if it doesn't matter at all for gameplay)

Derek Yu is very good at mario games lmao.
I love the system of -beat the level before you release it. - It's almost like a reward of itself to beat something that difficult.

The first part of that was totally brilliant. The mushroom trap that pays off if you run to the end was great-- and getting to it only by making an initial accident. Also awesome.

I hope there was a hidden block against the wall at the end. Forcing the player to suicide/restart if they make a mistake is bad level design.

Man, Derek Yu seems like such a sweetheart: D
Also, nail-biting gameplay! Phew! Well done to whomever's playing in the footage (golf clap)

I don't like spelunky so much, but this Mario level design. Man. It's one of the most impressive level designs I've ever seen

wat the hell? what gaming hell has no water levels?
yes I know that's impossible in this case, don't start giving me lectures

There should be a setting to make the screen flicker due to sprite limitations like how Mario Bros 3 did on the NES

That first coin to show the player confidence and then smash our mind with that difficulty. I love it, what a designer

Just in case anyone is wondering, this level has been beaten 17 times out of 4900 plays.
Yea. it's hard.

Awesome level! but I do think that 4th section with the mushrooms was wayy too short compared to the others >_

The Hell of Mines, the Hell of Jungle, the Hell of Ice, the Hell of Temple and the Hell of Hell.
Got it

I love Spelunky (though I'm apparently too lame to ever beat it) I like your infectious laugh too Derek! -

So tempted to buy a WiiU just to mess around with Super Mario Maker. But damn the WiiU is kinda expensive.
