More tips: use R1 in the pipboy to fav healing items and weapons set to the d-pad. Use different weapons for different enemies. After you get used to it youll be able to heal or use items you set by pressing once in the d-pad and then pressing x. No menu needed! Also certain weapons are more effective against certain enemies. Mirelurks do not like it when i use shotguns. You can use melee attacks with R1 with any weapon and you can equip grenades and Molotov WITH a weapon. To use grenades just hold the melee button ( R1) and releasing it will throw the grenade. Also note that the thrown grenade is thrown from your left hand. THAT DOES MATTER. I have thrown many Molotov and it hits the door frame even when im standing dead center in a doorway.\r\n

As a person who works at a store full of geek merch I can confirm quite a few comic fans ( about as many as video game franchise fans, or console fans) Are VERY apposed to their respective media growing and becoming more popular.
Edit: Highly recommend collecting meat from all the monsters and cooking it. It removes all rads from the meat you cook and gives exp for each item. Mole rat meat after being cooked is like 40 to 50 hp per and they usually come in groups of like 8 to 30. So yeah it might help your healing situation.

As a person who works at a store full of geek merch I can confirm quite a few comic fans ( about as many as video game franchise fans, or console fans) Are VERY apposed to their respective media growing and becoming more popular.

I notice when you use VATS you just aim at the torso a lot. Try targeting the head more, or maybe a leg to cripple a tough enemy to slow them down. I think you'll save a lot of ammo or at least get more of the upper hand if you try more strategic targeting. Yes the torso is the easiest to hit but most enemies can take more body shots than head shots.

Ah the consequences of going somewhere far too early, we've all been there! I sauntered n to a derelict hospital at level 12, fought my way to the basement and go steamrolled by a Deathclaw. Went back a bit later with better armour and weapons and wiped that turd-blossom off of the face of the earth.

Phil, some observations:
Your gun is way past it's useful envelope. Either massively upgrade it, or better still, replace it with something that actually does damage
Put Stimpacks and Rad-away on your hot bar
Use VATS
Use chems to boost stats in boss fights

If you don't think you can kill an enemy and you've already used a bunch of healing items, just take a death a load from an earlier save. That is the practical option. Also, just because you quick save doesn't mean you can't go back to an earlier save to get the healing items back.

You should really consider hitting a bench and upgrading your weapon. You have a workbench at Sanctuary. Also i noticed you lugging around the mini gun and some power armor parts, any gear you leave at a workbench in Sanctuary will stay there for the games entirety.

Copley square does look great in this game. This might be the one and only game to depict Beantown. Will be the only one for years. Can't wait for the Cape Cod DLC!
