Turok 1 & 2 were the shit for 1997. Fun action, awesome dinosaur animations, lots of cool weapons, dinosaurs, tough difficulty, dinosaurs, big levels and dinosaurs. Also this series brought us the wonderfully violent Cerebral Bore, still one of the best video game weapons of all time. I will probably never play this again (could I have some level design with all that linearity please, but I still look back on it with very fond memories.

Also I like how for the box art they threw Tal Set stabbing the dinosaur. Like on the N64 version Joshua Fireseed was on the box art, but you play as Tal Set. The remake fixed this and I love it.

Weirdly enough, Turok on N64 was the game that made me understand the true value of Mouse+Keyboard for FPS games. Before then I was playing Quake with a keyboard and/or Gravis Gamepad.

thanks god this remake, but you take too much time killing the little enemies, you can run, dont need to kill everyone and spend bullet for nothing, you could run to show the others levels; )

That draw distance though. I'm glad this issue was fixed for the remake, makes for a way better game when you can actually see what you're shooting: P

Oh boy, the output resolution is 1080p, too bad the game is visually total garbage and therefore does not at all benefit from 1080p output res.

Ugh, low resolutions textures never look good filtered. Look at how terrible the ground looks, it'd look better if it was kept pixelated.

I never liked the first turok but when it's on sale next summer I'll give it another chance. I always liked turok 2 though.
