Completely wrong approach with the game, your predecessors have failed by implementing the 3D engine to the game and so will you, no matter how much time and money you invest in graphics, simply put - the sudden strike we loved was never about the graphics and im sure everybody will tell you that who played it as long as i did.
If people want micromanagement and detailed graphics, they will go to company of heroes. end of discussion.
The sudden strike 1, 2 (and other mods, like hidden stroke, etc) had that simplicity. you had many units (hundreds at once) at your command. airplanes you used to bomb entire cities. Most of the time, the supply trucks you would only use to resupply katyushas and your howitzers who fired endlessly at the enemies.
Not to mention that Map editor, it was amazing thing to have, and a lot of people had fun making maps, missions and what not.
If you just made the game better in sense of:
- physics
- graphics = never put 3d into it, just improve that 2d to look smooth, and for explosions - make them as real as possible
- better map handling
- simplified unit command
this game should have been all about numbers of troops, not micromanaging your units up to a point that you are not sure if you are playing dota
the whole point is not having the same ideas as everyone else! why make over and over the same thing
a lot of people made a complaint about voices - i agree completely! what the hell? if they are germans, they should speak german.

I dont understand the point of sudden strike today. It was breakthrough game in post Red Alert RTS genre and rush type of strategy, but today using the same mechanics as 10 years ago is ridiculous, especially when we have masterpiece games like Company of Heroes 2 based on micromanagement using environments and limited supply points. Me and my friends have been playing SS in LAN almost a year, every night till morning, so i have good advice to you guys at polygon. Sudden Strike will fail if you don't change something dramatical in core gameplay. This mechanics and gameplay is stucked in 2002.

If the armor values and armor facing is not taken into account like Hidden Stroke. I dont want anything to do with -health bars-. if the realism is not in place like Hidden Stroke. screw this game. enough of the instant gratification gaming, so childish, how about some realism instead of arcade. we have enough of them.

Can anybody please tell me if this game has a free mode/sandbox mode where you build some sorta base and do like as skirmish mode? Or is it just objectives and missions? Somebody please respond, this will be the tipping point if I buy this game or not.

guys fix the damn range! the standard tank to tank battle in ww2 it is said to be fought 400 meters apart. so much effort on vehicles s details and you screw it up. again. also why can t we have formations like in coh! for tank aswell.

A few others, infantry and tanks to not engage when seeing the enemy, they trot on until they reached their designated point, needs to change. Then the order needs to improve a bit, a bunch of tanks and soldiers moving in random order.

Biggest problem i would have is the lack of the pause button, it is needed to direct all the troops and then turn it on for a bit. If that button dont exist it always goes to ratshit as it is too many units in realtime.

Thats not suddenstrike, just another try. Sound effects are horrible, effects and grafiks dont give a world war feeling, more like a new arcade game for consoles. But good enough for our modern Game Community.

So they kept 3D graphics still, even it did not work with Sudden Strike 3. I dont like how this looks, Sudden Strike 1 and 2, made 15 years ago are better. This looks like fail to me.
