We recently got a chance to play Urban Empire, an interesting new strategical simulator combining politics, city-building, and historical events. With this game, it's not just about building cities; it's about effectively ruling them, too

Where is the filibuster-button?
Edit: I just saw a kind of weird mission where you help your friends business through politics, and there where seemingly no unwanted consequence from it. This strikes me as kind of odd, as the rest of the game, like most sim-builders, seems to be about weighing the pros and cons of a decition. He rearranged the police to patrol there more often, should not the police then start lacking in other places? Or does new police men just magically appear to patrol extra? Or does the police not mind working overtime without pay? You also outright lie in council, also without repercussion.
You also seem to do alot of very uninformed choices in a game that is, again, seemingly all about weighing pros and cons as you try to make your creation prosper. Like, -Plead, Demand and Threat- which seem very hard to read when you lack both social and informational context. The reason why I'm reading into the lack of information in certain situations is because the game otherwise bombard you with information, like there are at least around 20 different aspects that the game will inform you about at any given time.

So many new building games but not one of them comes even close to the beauty of the visuals and graphics of SimCity 2013. none not even skylines. at least thats what I think. I really wish someone would come up with something similer but better. A game where you can zoom in and be amazed at the views from the ground level. I wait with great anticipation for that but sadly I think the company that made simcity is gone now and has not been replaced. These new games may be great in a strategic way but they are crap to behold.

I was really looking forward to seeing some English gameplay of this game, and you let me down Polygon. No commentary and whoever is playing looks like they've never played this type of game before. I felt like I was watching someone fumble around with the game rather than show informative gameplay.

I lasted 6 minutes. My first impressions? This game is neither fish nor fowl- not impressed by what I saw. The graphics are 3rd rate at best. Think I'll pass.

I really wish these gameplay videos would include some commentary like the overview videos did. I loved watching those. These straight gameplay videos are a bit boring.

Graphics look a bit dull, but other than that it looks great! Being from the same company that made the Tropico games, I would imagine it'd be very good

Was -mission burrito- a San Francisco reference? I got way too hyped when I saw it. #MISSIONFOREVERRRR also this game looks amazing.

this is good enough for me though everyone's still complaining about graphics. first step that this game will may develop more in due time

Who ever played this, needs to learn to make a decision and click the mouse. Got bored waiting for them to do things.

One thing, the stats seems a bit derpy and old, would be nice if you made them smother, looks great otherwise!

I laughed hard. Polygon got 24 Minutes and Wrighting Bull got a couple of episodes while talking to the producer

Really interesting. I hope they spice up the graphics a tad more. But the concept is totally up my alley.
