I still remember the old days playing NwN1. nothing more came after that. I played so many MMOs trying to get that roleplaying experience, trying to revive my old days playing tabletop roleplay games with my school friends. We have been waiting too long, and now its hard to believe Larian managed to create something close to that incredible experience.

This has potential to be amazing. Neverwinter Nights had a similar gametype, also with interesting improvisation abilities, but it suffered from cumbersome interfaces and ultimately less immediate sorts of control than the GM seems to have in Original Sin 2. Add to that the item and physics interactions and this seems like a major winner.

I hope this gets the success it deserves, you've got to find a few people to play with you and it needs a lot more co-operation than most online gaming so pugs might be hard work. I've got my fingers crossed for this, I'm sure the game is gonna be a hit and this GM version will give them so much credibility.

This seems like a great alternative to roll20 for online roleplaying. I'd probably still use roll20 most of the time due to its small preparation requirements compared to this, but I could see this being perfect for the roleplaying equivalent of cinematic set pieces.

now your talking. love the idea of d-d thing and the dice in the game that's exactly what I want. I hope larian studios will expand the game with more d-d staff. good work.

You need to check out Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2. This DM mode has been done before, and it is obvious that Original Sin 2 takes a lot from NWN. That is a GOOD thing.

D: OS2 is the most slept on early access title this year, and now finally I can test my friends in Trial by Cheese Wheel. Thanks for the preview Polygon!

Damn, if they make it so people can host servers for custom worlds (for more than 4 people) like your could in NWN this will be pure awesome.
reply

If we can make interesting and fun custom campaigns like NWN1, then this will be an awesome replacement for the NWN series.

This has crazy potential, if it even becomes open to other systems, compare this to RPG players on Table Top Simulator.
reply

Hopefully this picks up and goes beyond what Neverwinter Nights accomplished years ago. This is exciting.
