Marvel's Spider-man may have the highest-fidelity recreation of New York City yet in a video game. but it still does some things a little differently. We take a look at the choices Insomniac made in recreating the Big Apple

There is a 9 11 memorial in the game if you go onto 1 of the glass buildings down in the south western side in the game if you look in the building you actually see the twin towers in the glass building but if you look where they should be they aren't there
Edit: Nevermind I just realised that is a reflection of the tower your already climbing not the twin towers.

Probably more Licensing stuff but the stand-in for the NYPL and Met Museum really annoy me. Also GCT is missing the hermes statue -Or the first responder statue for the marvel universe- But it also remembered to add an eagle statue on the south west corner.
However, I also feel like Hudson yards missing is kinda an improvement.

They get everything wrong about New York because there's no invincible walls IRL lmfao It's just Manhattan smh lol. I wouldn't release another spiderman game until all 5 boroughs can be recreated for the game lol and I'd actually have story and gameplay that includes all 5 boroughs. The new systems should be able to handle that.

Funny how they don't include the memorial in this game when a reference was there in Spider-Man 2 for the PS2. I wish they included it even if only for players who don't live anywhere near Manhattan Island to at least see it. I'm sure most players would be respectful to such an icon.

I'm still mad that they made 432-Park-Avenue 2. 5/4 the height it should be. It's obviously meant to be it. I also hate how everyone in the city looks like a millennial hispter who doesn't understand what clean dressing looks like. So pretty accurate.

My mom loved that the game was so accurate but was disappointed when she walked the streets to where her apartment was when she lived in NY and found out it (and her nursing school) were some of the blocks cut from the game: (

So I liked spiderman since childhood. I played a bit of the Amazing Spiderman. I wonder because I live next to a Clinton Heights in how accurate the neighbors can be. I liked my hometown New York from Spiderman series.

You said that it wouldn-t be New York unless there-s the ESB and I agree but I would say the same thing for the Chrysler Building, but as far as I know, there-s no Chrysler Building in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

It'd be cool if they added DLC updates that would update those under construction buildings so that they'd now be comepleted. Like essentially update the city in real time so that it always matches the real life NYC.

About the 911 thing, I think that tower could be one of the World Trade Center towers, because a superhero of some kind stopped the second plane when they saw the first plane hit the first tower.
reply

I like the game but what she said about Washington heights has been cut off. and Harlem is a very large neighborhood in Manhattan park av on upper east side is short the tracks suppose to be long.
reply

No one would be butt hurt about the One World trade Center/Freedom Tower being in the game. That would've been dope to have it in the game. Hell, the Original Trade Towers would've been so cool.
reply

Maybe the twin towers collapsed before nine eleven and they built the freedom tower, but then that was destroyed in nine eleven so they rebuilt it into that weird thing. Multiverses logic -
reply

I love in the heights and I-m pissed that they just cut it out there-s so much history here and it would-ve been great to see the 4 giant buildings right before the Washington bridge

I live in Michigan. I've only EVER seen NYC fictionally. If there isn't a criminal/Ninja Turtle/vagabond at every corner then I'm calling it fictional. That's reality for this guy.
reply

When I moved to nyc as a European after high school, I kind of expected police car chases and bank robberies every day - I suspect the spider man movies had something to do with it
reply

but no Woolworth building tho - my fav old skyscraper In nyc. but still insomniac knocked out of the park tho. you feel like you are actually there playing.
reply

Someday we will have a scan tecnologgy abble to scan all city and makes complete for games. yeah, but i think this would be use for other purposes
reply

Oscorp isn-t actually a replacement for Bloomberg! That office (Lexington Ave) is actually recreated in-game, just about where it is in real life!
reply

They should make a 9/11 memorial in the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 just to pay the respects for people who has suffered in that attack. Out of respect.
reply

-It's constantly packed with tourists-
Oh, I bet now in 2021 with all the failed businesses you are praying for those tourists to come back.

reply

I didn't notice that there where npc tour guides in the game and talking about 9/11
I should pay more attention to the npc In the game.

reply

One of the things I always notice and laugh about are the many, many alleys there are in this game. We don-t have alleys.
reply

I was just in New York for the first time the last two weeks. It was so weird to visit places I had an idea of from game
reply

I wonder if a Hotel called New Yorker is in spider man ps4 I searched it for a bit now but I can-t find it.
reply

In one of the building you look at the reflection you can see the 9/11 but its not their when you turn back
reply

My favorite video game version of NYC is the fake one in GTA 4 where the MetLife building says -get a life-
reply

I think the 110th st area near Harlem gets weird as there-s a subway tunnel in the game that doesn-t exist.
