Werewords is like 20 questions except there are sneaky werewolves around trying to mess up your word game. Don't let them! This episode of Polygon's Overboard, see us trying to figure out what literally any words mean
Date: 2023-12-10

Quick tip if you are the Major (and on the town side. DON'T over complicate your word. If it has many meaning, pick one and narrow your answers to that single meaning. Remember that the goal is have the town guess the word, -NOT- to answer every question pedantically truthful and/or correct. I would give false/incorrect answers if it means leading the player down the right path (and of course not causing further confusion.

4: 45, did he reallly just confirm he had his eyes open on the werewolf fase? its like saying -oh you saying you found my fingerprints in the murder weapon? Ooooh, so thats what it was, relax, that's not what you think, turns out i just forgot to wear gloves. classic me lol-
reply

interesting game, but the auto generated chapters spoil parts even if you don't want to see them, since they automatically read the text on the screen and make it the chapter, which is visible any time the video progress bar appears, such as when the video is paused

An entirely missable moment in the chaos of the Pizza round is Ryan asking: -Is it fragile? - only to receive an 'X' token, and come to the completely reasonable conclusion of: -Okay so it's pretty- Indestructible. -
reply

Simone so often says -I don't know- or -I am so confused! - that it's not only refreshing to watch her be successful it's something to actively root for, because when she's got it. SHE'S GOT IT.

Hair and skin and nails are not bodily waste products because they are not wasted. They each have very important roles in the survival of almost all mammals.
But yes they are super dead.

reply

now i must ponder the thought, that if hair is constantly growing, but also is considered to be bodily waste, does that mean that we are very slowly, yet continuously shitting out of our skin?
reply

30: 10 -Is it bigger than a bread box? - -yes-
I feel like, technically, pizza goes IN a bread box, given that it is also called flatbread and generally comes in a box.

reply

To me hashtag is a concept, human made concept. I think he was right. And what they were looking for was the process of hashtagging more than the symbol itself.
reply

thanks to pat, for every single round after the first, i-d think to myself -it-s a train! - for literally every single answer that didn-t disprove it
reply

The instant you fold a pizza, it becomes a calzone or a stromboli, depending on how you fold it, so definitively no, a pizza cannot fit into a breadbox.

Werewolf major is very interesting. It's just two people trying to throw the others off without being to obvious.
Shame you need friends for this game.

reply

The fact that they called out Ryan as werewolf mayor is wild to me. Breakdown -is- highly ambiguous if there's no context to choose one of its meanings.
reply

I appreciate that when Pat asked a not yes-or-no question the second time, he called himself out with -hard to sit on- (from the Wavelength episode)
reply

dugout is an awful word for this lmao. I looked it up on Wikipedia cause I didn't know what it means and there's like 6 definitions or something
reply

Music in the intro and outro is -Rings Around Saturn- by Bernard Ebbinghouse, finally found it after like 3 years of trying to figure it out: )
reply

I imagined pat's mind in the first round to be like
--Okay, you're the seer, play dumb--
-Is it a train? -
--oh shoot, not that dumb! --

reply

I guess it's easy to forget during the game but it couldn't have been Ryan at 42: 54 because he knew Ryan was The Thing at 39: 30
reply

I was rather confused in round 3 because to me a dugout is a small man-made body of water and I forgot that baseball existed
reply

i wasnt looking at the last one's word and i thought pat's immense discomfort at -can you eat it- was alluding to it being semen
reply

When the word was -crypt- and BDG hesitated after -have we all been there? - Like, there's a part of him that considered it
reply

There's something great about the fact that the subtitles completely refuse to spell -SB Nation- correctly at any point.
reply

Man, Samit and Brian were so good at making confusing questions as werewolves in the -hair- round. Jenna was just too good
reply

Pat: Ryan opened his eyes during werewolf phase
? How is that fair in any way? That seemed sweaty for no reason lmao

reply

I realize there are other factors to what gets content, but I could watch this get played seasonally by the crew.
reply

The parched brother-in-law secondly suspect because dance specifically confuse vice a scary leather. half, better blood
reply

I was playing this tonight and my word as mayor was bread box. I bursted out laughing and had to come back here
reply

For dugout i used both of the non baseball answers in my head. I literally thought -a canoe is not a building-
reply

The way I was expecting Chris Hemsworth to be one of the magic words in the video thanks to the intro-
reply

I must-ve read the title like 6 times before I realized it said -Werewords- and not just -Werewolves-
