I love seeing all these videos talking about Armored Core popping up since the reveal of AC6. It really is amazing just how much of Armored Core's DNA is in Dark Souls. Yet so few Souls fans even know Armored Core exists.
I have been an Armored Core fan since the PSX days. I also love Dark Souls and Elden Ring. I have even played some of From's much less well known games, like Eternal Ring and Adventures of Cookie & Cream. And the one thing that they have ALWAYS done, is treat their player's like adults. They don't go easy on you, because they respect you. They don't pull their punches, because they know you can take the hit and keep going. They want you to have fun, but you have to earn that fun. Because earning it makes it even better.
This is why they never have an easy mode in any of their games. They don't need one. Their games are tough, but fair. And removing that toughness would fundamentally change the experience for the worse. The entire point is to get back up, dust yourself off, and try again. But you can't get back up if you never get knocked down in the first place.

Honestly, Armored Core has some pretty good story, you just have to put effort into it.
Except for AC4A's -Hehe, genocide go boom- ending.
Also, the term -Raven- only gets used once in Armored Core 4, and not at all in AC4A. Amazhig, the Desert Wolf, the only old-type pilot you ever see pilot a NEXT, refers to you as a Raven in the final mission of chapter 2 in AC4. Every other character refers to NEXT pilots as -LYNXes-.

You say it! Im very excited about AC6 but i havent played any AC yet but i know if FromSoft works on something -Soulslike- or not they know how to make the best games! Right now i started the first AC and i love it! But im lucky and i can change to a comfortable setting (2 Joysticks for moving and the Camera and the Back button for all other controls. With this even a old game like this it plays it pretty smooth)

The trailer looked hype for armored core 6. Having never heard of it prior to the steam awards, I am excited. Only thing I am curious about now is what the gameplay will be like. Will they take the Mechanic's from their dark souls series and translate it into something that would work with guns and robots? Or will it go a different route. Regardless, that trailer was bad ass.

Found this video because I recently started playing the AC games and boy, you people really need to stop saying Kojima directed ZOE, lmao. I've been hearing that for 20 years. You just need to play them to know, it's blatantly apparent. They both had different directors and Kojima only produced them, he wasn't even a writer.

Armored Core's story isn't character driven. You are just one more pilot helping corporations thrive while getting paid a lot in the process.
The game deals with war in a futuristic dystopia. It doesn't have a message of hope or badassery, It's just sad and depressive as it would be.

I just realised Armored Core 2 was one of my favorite games on ps2 when I was a child. Today, Armored Core 6 just announced at the game awards (so the leaks were true) and as a souls fan, I got so hyped just because I know it will be the best Armored Core game, no doubt.

I really hope the next version of armored core succeeds i loved the originals so much ive been waiting for this to happen i even told myself they were going to make it more like souls

As mech fan I really excite for VI on the next year. Never play previous title before and wonder how amazing the Robot that we can build will look like in modern graphic.

I not into FPS or big robots, but Fromsoft has consistently proved they make challenging but fair games ultimately rewarding and fun to play. I'm down to give it go.
