Well living in the USA in 1977 I didn’t know any of the non English speaking songs but quite a few sounded like I would have liked them if I had heard them. I knew all the instrumentals. I counted and I didn’t know 29 of the English speaking songs. I didn’t even know David Soul could sing at all I just thought he was an actor.

Yes! Another Top Songs in Europe video. Some of my favorites from that year are definently Beautiful Rose by GBS, When by Showaddywaddy and Queen of Chinatown by Amanda Lear. Great video but you missed in my opinion one song that was a hit in Europe being Rockollection by Laurent Voulzy but still great vid none the less.

Yes agree we are affected by American sounding records getting priority. I remember Hurrican Smith on TOTP allegedly having a go at a dreadful BBC DJ who wanted to kniw why his new record wasnt selling. Hurrican allegedly said because the DJs wont play it! I love all the unknown songs on this site!

Thanks for the song: Black is Black cause I was over thinking to whom the Artist sang it. That just to show how much I can remember the song & forgotten the artist. I was only 5 years old at this time of the year 1977.

This shows how much we Americans like to be isolated. If it isn't in English, it won't be played here. I go to Belgium every few years to see my family, so I have learned to enjoy music from many countries.

I will say, this is a great video like usual! Just gotten into Cerrone’s _Love in C Minor_ and also this is giving me great material for my hit songs lists! Keep it up, SRG!

I loved seeing all these non-English songs included, too. I love European pop music and you never hear it in the US. This video is a goldmine. Thanks for posting it.

I love these videos. I grew up during the 70s and 80s and it’s cool to hear songs that I’m familiar with and that are new to me. Keep up the great work!

Ik was 16, en heb in oktober van dit jaar een heftig ongeluk gehad, 4 dagen in coma gelegen, maar kan gelukkig nog genieten van de muziek van toen, great time

distinct lack of 60s female singets-cilla, sandie, dusty, judith and petula all had mssive hits and were integral to the 60s happening

Whole lot of worthless, mediocre songs, mixed with real gems like JJ Cale's Cocaine, Stevie Wonder's pieces, God save the queen.

Love Abba, the Bee Gees, Queen, 10cc, Status Quo, Elvis, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie and Amanda Lear. I was 18 in 1977.

In those years, beautiful music of all genres was being created. Today little creativity and homologation of tastes.

Half of these artists I never heard of. And the ones that I do know, half of them I'm familiar with their songs.
