Tell your pet stores not to carry exotic pets -- toucans, flying squirrels, etc. They rarely know how to take care of them, and are just seeking the $$$. If you see animals that are not being treated well, BE VOCAL. And VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLAR. Stop supporting them. It's bs to think it's your right to hold an animal captive and let them suffer.

its amazing how pet stores dont get slapped with animal cruelty lawsuits or anything, with the horrible conditions they keep the animals in, im not saying they should be slapped with it for every goldfish and stuff, but like they should at least take better care of the animals and fish and whatnot they have.

I don't understand why pet stores are allowed to be so negligent. This is animal negect. So many helpless animals suffer in captivity and nothing is done about it. It should be illegal for a pet business to buy and sell animals if they are unable or unskilled to properly care for any species they obtain.

This is a moray eel not an eel, there are entirely diffrent species. Eels are freeshwater fish and moray eels are saltwater-fish. Only the larvae of eels live in the sea and females which are going back to the sargasso-sea. Moray Eels dont do that.

I have that same eel, I have a 3rd one because the 1st one committed suicide because I had no cover, the 2nd one died of fungus and I have a 3rd one and I will be putting him in a saltwater tank by the time I set one up

I’m so happy you saved him and so glad you are not keeping him! Eels are a LOT of work! Even though they are a lot of fun. (Mine is named Eelvis)
That tank is WAY too small, and eels need a large cleanup crew.

Funny bit of trivia, once eels see food and can recognize it, they are known for getting very excited, and at certain aquariums they are known for jumping out of their tanks at the sight of food or what they think is food.

Chain pet stores really should only be allowed to sell supplies and basic pets like cats dogs and hamsters it is pretty much a guarantee that 70% of the animals they have there are kept in abusive conditions

Since you said foster then the small tank can be understandable, but for those who do plan on having an eel they need more room then that in the video. Like 3x as bigger. 40 gal min.

Animal shouldn't be sold, I avoid such stores, you can be sure I'll buy the sick pets to try and save the, and it doesn't happen that much, success I mean.
