Something that really makes me laugh was him saying I can't explain the nicknames meaning he just makes them up on the fly, but anyone who has a cat understands EXACTLY what he is talking about and does not need an explanation. Your cat's nicknames are anything that comes to mind the moment you open your mouth. And they DO NOT care at all.
I do wonder though if it would be beneficial to have her legs amputated, if it could be done safely. They wouldn't get caught for her as much and she might have a bit better mobility without having to maneuver around them

I have a Scooter too! His full name is Lord Scoot Muh Toots. His legs were unusable when I first got him, now he runs around just like any other cat. He has seizure every once in a while, but is living his best life. Second kitty I have had with bum legs. My First was named Crutches, rip my little friend.

That's an amazing cat. Scooter is so blessed to have an equally amazing human to fend for him. He practically customized Scooter's living arrangements to accomodate his special needs. A mix of jubilation and wistfulness at the power of love and strength of spirit to overcome hurdles in life.

Sam Tochtrop, Scooter’s adorable. My three cats, who I have had separately, each thought if she can’t see me, I can’t see her. Thank you for not giving up on her. To me, she’s not a terminally I’ll cat. She just has a disability. Scooter is meant to be your cat.

I think we can forgive him since he is an EX- cat hater and second not only did he get a cat but is willing to take one with special needs. And it looks like it's working great for both of them.

she said she hated cats but we adopted a stray calico cat and we name her Dasher/Dash and so whenever she's alone with her she would cuddle with her and laugh

Scooter let her back legs show when hiding was so you could find her. Knowing that humans aren't all that smart, she feels sorry for you. Nice kitty.
