Let nature take its course. Maybe there was a hungry predator who was starving to death with maybe a few days left of energy who missed out on a meal. Or maybe a mother animal was struggling to find food for her newborns who are starving.
You never know how your actions will affect an ecosystem so it’s best to let things go

Once, a neighbor's dog got his head stuck in the fence. He was howling, but guy didn't or couldn't hear it. I knocked on the door, man came out & said omg! & we got the dog out. I love all animals & relate to them. That was sad to hear the dog cry.
