Bless. What a lovely couple rescuing this koala. The koala knew the occupants in that car were their last resort, last hope. All creatures when in desperate need, know they have no choice but to trust, approach, and let humans help them.

That's probably why he is depressed his most likely saw his family killed by the fire, he is traumatised but in time with enough love and other koala friends he will be ok

Koalas stress very easily. You could tell that he wasn't himself. Under normal circumstances no wild koala would let you get that touchy feely with him.

There should be sanctuaries set up for koalas and they should be protected at all costs . They are such a beautiful and unique animal.

Normally the campsite owner would be correct but the KI fire was so catastrophic. Poor Koala had probably seen some sht.
