This girl reminds me a little bit of our Beagle mix rescue. A bit under weight. Scared as hell. Tail tucked in all the time. Zero desire to be on a leash. She treated it as if she was being punished. So we gave her free reign in the house and kept her off the leash. She put on two pounds before her first vet appointment three weeks later. Now she runs around the house like Speedy Gonzales. The vet has warned us that she will likely have joint issues later but she is barely out of her puppy stage. That is a long ways off. So she gets to run around, head and tail held high and she acts like this is her house and the rest of us just live here.

My friend just took in a 1 year old pup named Peanut rescued from a hoarding situation. We finally got him to go outside to go potty. Thankfully he's not this bad & we finally got a wagging tail on his third day here.
But its going to take time to make him comfy & happy. Although he has already claimed the couch. Poor baby sacked out so hard the first night home.
Its only been 3 days so lots of time to go.
We're just giving him the time he needs to come to us for affection.
He does get along with the cats which was the main worry. Otherwise we'll deal with whatever comes up because everyone has quirks.
He's an absolute cutie though.

I think the previous owners of my sister’s dog Zeus didn’t treat him all that well but we got him on the tail end of his puppy phase so he got used to being well treated pretty quickly and he adapted. Some dogs who have been poorly treated by people end up fearing us but Zeus is different. He loves people because he is driven by one singular instinct.
A human Brilliant, maybe this one has food!

What a lovely home you have, it’s so nice of you to share it the rescued dog looks so well. It’s interesting that you just let her have time and do what she needs to do to mentally absorb what she’s going through and get use to her new surroundings. Then when she’s up to it she came out of her shell,

I wish and hope every day that someday society will evolve to the point that every animal has the outcome of this sweet pup.
It levels me to imagine being horribly abused your whole life, finally brought to a shelter & then killed bc you’re not adoptable or too old. It’s heartbreaking.

Thank you so much for rescuing her, she is gorgeous. You brought out her true personality. It's such a shame we can't tell them everything is going to be OK, it just takes time, and you did it perfectly

Something went wrong with the human species so long ago, we've forgotten our connection with other animals. Thank goodness for you, lady, you never forgot. Here's to all the people who know.

I’ve seen people say confining a scared dog to a small room for a while and then letting them adjust there is somewhat better than introducing to large space like living rooms.

I just don't understand euthanizing a dog that isn't suffering and in physical pain that cannot be helped. What the hell is wrong with us as a species

The music is so unnecessary
The video is uplifting enough. We don’t need your forced positivity

It's rewarding, although it takes time, for them to fall in love with you. She is so precious!
