Why’s it that most people who commented had them as a pet or protected wild ones. that’s not normal there skunks! They are one of the freakiest wild animals. You don’t know their state of mind. My mom got sprayed by a skunk when she was very little they gave her a tomato sauce bath. Wild animal pets should be: deer, raccoons, foxes, rabbits, coyotes, quails, chipmunks, squirrels, mongooses, etc. Not something that can spray you with horrible scent. I can see it now: oh you can pet her she won’t spray you Rrrriiiiiiiigggghhhtttt. And the people who remove the scent glands are cruel. Not only have you damaged the skunk physically but mentally also. That’s like a runner without feet. Please don’t do that. I get so MAD at people who de-claw their cats what do they do that deserves that A cat has claws. Period.

He's beautiful. In the 80s we found a baby brother & sister alone in the middle of the dirt road by our house. We raised them till they were old enough to be on their own. So cute. Very clean. Used litter. Lots of romping & stomping. Butts aimed to spray, but they were well behaved. Pepe & Fifi. They used to come back to visit us from time to time. They'd eat food with the barn cats.

When I was a kid my parents had a 30 something pound California skunk and something happened and my dad spanked it with a newspaper or swatted his behind I should say and after that I was the only one it would interact with and play with skunks don't forget it you make them mad I remember him getting in the bathtub with me all the time I loved him and his name was Leroy

I ran into a group in Florida Skunk rescue’ and they had several that had been Spayed and the scent gland removed. There was a mature female that was beyond friendly. A sweet little animal. I held her for a half hour. Obviously they were very domesticated. I think they had been orphaned as babies.

I had an orphaned skunk that was our 'kitty' for 7 years. Her name was Rosie. Had her fixed and descented, and she was the best critter we ever had as a pet. Used the litter box, wasn't destructive like I hear many are. and LOVED people!

Those stomps are actually how they warn predators to get back. And if that doesn't work, skunks will raise their tails in the air, and spray. Even at 10 feet in the distance, skunks can spray with perfect aim.

Adorable & cute babyskunk. It was nice to take care of him and then release him to his natural home, but I would have been worried about the skunk spray while indoors. Luckily, he was only bluffing.

If you knew a skunk from the time it was a baby and you both got close, would it still spray you if you startled it or would it know to hold back Skunks and weasels are cute.

You are an awesome human being! Thank you for rehabilitating these little gorgeous skunks and then releasing them back into their natural habitat, you are wonderful.

Skunks are good pets, they like to play & be loved. Have known many. When they turn their back that one eye keeps staring at you it seems like a warning.

How old do they have to be to spray you And have you ever been sprayed by one of the little stinker. He has turned out to be a little cutie.

I watched the cutest baby skunk on my back porch last night, he spent maybe 30 minutes catching bugs and such, less bugs and a ball to watch
reply

These little stinkers seem to spend their whole lives either foraging or pointing their asses at anything that has eyeballs.
reply

I see a wild animal attempting to bite and spray her. Not cute. People have lost all common sense.
reply

Raising them, do they smell like skunk on their own Do they ever spray in a non-threatened situation

Can’t understand why people would like such a dangerous animal like a skunk or a raccoon
reply

He's like a little ferret playing around in the cage with his butt sticking up all the time aww

My friend used to have pet skunks. She always let me pick them up and cuddle them.
reply

I don't care how little his bunghole is, I'm gonna freak out if I see one pointed at me.
reply

Stomp is a precursor to spray. Pointing the butt is a threat. That's not cute.

I’ve noticed other baby skunks behave same. This so cool. Sassy creatures!
