Woman Wasn't A Cat Person Until She Met This Kitten Soulmates My wife and I were in our late fifties when our 21 year old all black cat, Sylvester, passed away. We keep his ashes in a wooden box on our fireplace mantle. He was so wonderful that we promised one another that we would never have another pet.
But a couple years later, our house was damaged and we had to stay in a nearby hotel. This was during the summer and every evening, there was a gas fire pit in front of the hotel where guests could gather to relax and socialize.
A stray young tabby lived in the adjacent woods. And each evening he would come over to visit, be fed, get petted, and play with any children. Hotel employees said he had lived in the woods for a couple years. He was such a nice cat that before we checked out we grabbed him, put him in a copier paper box, took him to the vet to be all fixed up- and took him home with us. We named him Elijah and he is a fitting successor to Sylvester. Sometimes you just have to break a promise.

I'm crying tears of happines in the last minute of the video. That's just so relatable to me. Around a month ago, I found a stray kitten randomly hanging around our garden every single day. When I woke up, I was so excited, because I knew she would be waiting for me outside. Until one day, my grandmother who doesn't like cats (nor dogs) grabbed that kitten while she was sleeping, and threw her from like 2m height probably; this happened TWICE! . The last time I saw her was I think 1 day later for a few seconds before she ran away. She never showed up again. I was looking for her and thinking about her all the time (I do it even now. She meant so much to me. I was TRULY HAPPY after a long time, but it was just for a week (I found her in August 3rd I think a the last time I saw her was August 8th/9th. I hope she returns.

I rescued a stray kitten in my apartment complex. She came everyday to get food. So I started feeding her. I invited her in and she adjusted very easily. She had to teach me to care for a cat because I always had dogs. She is very intuitive and loving. I am happy I rescued her. Cats choose their guardians. They bring alot of comfort & love in your life.

I got two foster kittens for bottle feeding in the pandemic. To not get attached to them I also gave them superficial names. Tiger for the tiger cat and Noni for the other one because she looked like the cat of my mom that's called noni. Well 3 years later they are still with me and the only thing I regret are their names

People who say they aren't cat people are often closet cat lovers. Growing up, my brother would say how much he disliked my cat. Then Ide find him (behind closed doors) sleeping with my cat snuggled up to him in his arms. Give a kitten and a bottle to a not yet cat lover and see what happens.

I also have a million photos of her doing the exact same thing, yet somehow each of them is just that little bit cuter then the last one
Welcome to the parenting club, we’ve all got a million photos of our child (cat) doing cute poses that get cuter in each photo

What a sassy little girl! Remember this is your first, then of course she might need more companionship if you work away from home ect. 2 becomes 3, or the third is the puppy that needs a moma, then the parrot, the donkey, the fish and on and on it goes.

I brought in a little wet freezing stray cat. My mother was not enthused. I went out and bought a litter box and bowls. Got home and my mother had wrapped kitty in a towel to keep her warm and was talking baby talk. I knew she was hooked.

I love the stories where a not a cat person falls in love with a cat. I've always believed that anyone who doesn't like cats has just never experienced being in the company of one. These videos prove that!

The toddler stage yes, I feel it. Having three human children and having raised several kitties from infant to current, yes. And our almost three yr old black cat STILL follows me around the house

Most cats don't need baths, they are good at keeping themselves clean. As a rule, cats don't like standing in water or getting wet, so please don't bathe your cat without a good reason.

People who are not an animal person just don’t understand. You don’t choose to have a pet, they choose you and you have no choice. Life is to short not to have an animal in it.

I wasn't a cat person until my hubby brought home a 3 day old kitten and we had to feed him, make him go to the bathroom, and clean him. Next thing you know, im a cat person.
reply

I don’t mind people who prefer another animal than cats but if someone says they hate cats I see it as a red flag. Unless of course trauma
reply

What is with the resistance people have about loving cats though I grew up with cats, but I always loved dogs too. There's no need to choose.

Well, you have about 20 more years to consider giving her away tomorrow. There's a lot of tomorrows in 20 years. Congratulations Mom!

I haven’t had a cat in my life for about 15 years now, only dogs: ) cats are so dang cute, loving, and fun to watch grow up: )

I agree about millions of photos of the kitten doing the same thing. The same for me when my cat had 4 kittens!

Cats are obligate carnivores. Please feed an appropriate diet and avoid degenerative diseases.
