And she never goes to hunt for food after laying her eggs. So she essentially starves to death since it’s a reproduction strategy that has worked for octopi.

I just feel that if you discovered something like this just don't tell everyone because it disturbes the mom. That probably is stressing her a lot and she won't attack because she is protecting her babies. I didn't love the part of all those divers going around to get the selfie.

This is really unacceptable. You guys go there and disturb the poor octopus by throwing a bright light on its eggs nd herself. She must be really scared and starving. Couldnt u atleast give it some food and stop throwing the hella light on it. Couldnt the light be a lil dim

Nothing about this was cute or interesting. The divers have no clue how disrespectful and obnoxious their actions were. They did not care that they were causing stress and fear to a vulnerable animal. Only an unkind person without compassion would do that.

Amazing to see what a mother is willing to go through to see her babies being born. I don’t think if animals had the option for abortion they would exercise it like how humans do.
