This is adorable, best of luck for further connections cuz hummingbirds are awesome! Where I live there's a lot of them and they like bubbler fountains, sometimes they'll also come to me when I'm watering with the garden hose if I just stand really still the ones that are used to me will fly in and out of the water stream so you might try that too, use the gentle shower setting on a hand nozzle if you have anything like that. This year an exceptionally tiny hummingbird built her nest in one of my clay hanging sculptures, watching her scope out the property lay down the spider silk and build from scratch has been Pure Joy, so I named her PJ Harvey she finished her perfect little nest in just a few days, she's very much part of the household LOL she follows the dog around the yard, she knows I bring the cat out in the morning she likes to fly up and look at her and then fly away, can't wait for little babies to be hatched!

On to if they come by or not, it totally depends on what's blooming. A month ago while we were sitting on the deck having our morning coffee, we'd have 4 or 5 stop by in the space of a half hour. Now that the mimosa is blooming, it's rare to see even one. After the mimosa stops they'll be back as nothing else blooms in such quantity. They'll always take the natural source over man-made. When August/September rolls around and they're tanking up for the journey south and nothing much is blooming, we have hummingbirds guarding and fighting over the feeders no matter how many I put up. Ruby-throats are very aggressive.

The appreciation this guy has for the humming bird is so cool. I used to live in a rural area & got lots of humming birds. They'd come back year after year, & bring their offspring & friends until it was a humming bird war, as they are very territorial. We went from 1 feeder to 6 feeders & they still fought over them, p. Definitely fascinating to watch. I did get a couple to sit on my finger when I held it out as a perch on the feeder. But it only took about 5 minutes. That guy was very dedicated to wait that long!

Had this happen without even trying. Was staying at a place right next to a creek. Lots of vegetation and flowers from neighbors and property I was staying. I just like sitting on back porch, ripping nugs and watching bugs. Hummingbirds started to land on my shoulder, started putting their beaks in my ears, tickling me. Some would rest on my lap. Maybe they wanted to get high as well.

It's all the black and dark grey he's wearing that's preventing them from getting close. Wear a brightly flowered Hawaiian shirt and put a red or green cap on and they'll come. Learned this 65 years ago. Watched 3 hummers try to feed on my mom's bright flowered garden dress. She had them landing on her shoulders and hair all the time.

Seeing a hummingbird is a highlight of every Spring. They are awesome!
Your feeders are clean and ant-free. so far, anyway. The biggest hassle is maintaining the feeders. I found that putting a small amount of nectar (sugar water) in the feeder each morning, after cleaning the feeder, works best.

These guys are awesome birds! We have Mexican sage bushes and they love them. We can be out in the yard and they will go to them and be right at our face. They smell musty. If the feeders aren’t filled they will buzz you like food now human!

It's very cool doing this, we have 2 feeders attached to the kitchen window. But, it's also hilarious trying to imagine what the neighbors are saying. I try to imagine a comedian coming up with material, what a gold mine!

Ah I see. It's June so you're all of a sudden putting up the rainbow dodo. I will remove you from my watchlist now, since you feel the need to broadcast your child friendly material in such a fashion.

It took me months to get hummingbirds to my patio garden and another few months for the first to land on me. That magical moment ended when the bird pooped in my eye.

Hummingbirds Are Very Tricky Birds! It's Very Difficult To Get Them To Land On You! Even With The Burd Feeder It's A Task! But They Are Still Beautiful To Watch!

I had a hummingbird randomly perch on my finger a couple summers ago as I was watering my flowers. It was the most magical unexpected experience.

How nice. In the 1950s, I would sit in my neighbours garden and watch the Hummingbirds. The came very close to me to feed on the flowers. Love them.

If they're ruby-throated hummingbirds (which is what this looks like to me, without knowing a location) then Hummus is a girl

That was probably one of the most adorable things I have seen in a while! Just the amount of patience that required is amazing
