Thank you for what you do for these little sweet hearts. Without people like you guys in their lives they could be trapped in a body that doesn’t work very well and could actually set them backwards. You guys are great and you’re so fortunate you get to spend your days with some of the cutest little guys I think I’ve ever seen. Please (and I don’t think it’s ever going to happen) don’t ever get burned out with what you do. The work is so impressive and you guys, all of you, are so needed for these sweet little babies. The little guy you highlighted today just stole my heart. For me, if I did a job like yours, it would be getting paid for having fun with a bunch of furbabies. Thank you for helping these sweet babies. I hope they all get wonderful, loving homes, they’re just babies, they deserve it.

Thank you so much for helping this little guy out My Motto has always been If There's a Will there's a Way please don't stop believing,
You All can think of Ways for him to get the pupper back on his paws and he seems like a pupper that doesn't give up. I believe that he will be able to walk again with a lot of work. If he sees you guys not giving up on him he won't give up on you all. He's so cute and adorable and I know that he's a fighter. Best of luck to all of you, please never give up on him

Meh, what a dumb breeder, waiting for so long.
When they are infants, all you need to correct swimmer's syndrome is a rubber band or some elastic bandages, and two to three weeks of time, maximum.
Of course _Phelps_ has some other issues, but the same rule applies: the earlier you start fixing it, the quicker it goes and the better the results.
At least now he is with a proper guardian, who will not rest until he walks and turns into the little terror he should be.

We are going to need updates on this pup, OFTEN!
He is so full of energy that, you're right, there has to be something else to try! The brace/cast sounds good for the short term but, he's going to keep growing, so how long is that thing going to be good for I'm assuming surgery is not an option right now What would be the prognosis with going that route
Saying prayers, and crossing fingers AND toes for this little guy!

Do you happen to be a big-hearted animal lover who expresses support and approval by means of subscribing and commenting on the lesser-known rescue centers scattered across the globe One such place, by the name of Vafa Animal Shelter could benefit from your presence; look them up, and let them know their great work doesn't go unnoticed!

Bless the rescuer for helping this sweet boy and shame on that breeder for continuing to breed these animals. So many of them are bred poorly and the result is the animal suffers many breeders also don’t educate the people buying these puppies about how unhealthy they are and then they are shocked when veterinary care is expensive!

This little boy is fighting for life and you are right there beside him. helping him be his best self. Thank you for your tenacity, your compassion and your abundance of love. Please let us continue to see his progress. Then, can you see your way to adopt this little boy who loves you so much Please.

All this therapeutic approaches are really difficult for this little guy. I sometimes wonder what the rescuers are trying to achieve is really what's best for their pets.
Sadly, sometimes we have to make the difficult decision of letting our pets go to free them from their agony.

If these breeders can’t take care of all the puppies, they need to be out of business. They are only in it for the money. What cowards to just send them to shelters. Thank you for loving them and giving them the care they deserve when breeders won’t.

Way to go you wonderful people. hes very lucky to have you in his life as well as his in yours. hopefully he can walk again very soon! Also the so called breeders needs to be taught how to handle issues and even better stop breeding!

Happy ending was they adopted him. I believe in them and have faith, but even if he doesn’t improve, the love they have for himpriceless. The husband running him around to be part of the pack really touched me.

The title is wrong!
Should be called
Born as a swimmer.
Anyway, IM so happy this puppy survived and was not killed by shelter so now this puppy will be a good dog service or emotional support service.

I have heard of swimmer’s many times. I think I have also heard of the luxating elbows. Can you do surgery to correct the elbows Cause if that could be fixed then obviously he can learn to walk afterwards.
reply

Almost had me crying in my car. That is so sad to. just be born like that. This made me realize how fortunate my dog is. May you be blessed. I don't know how that feels but it will be just fine!

We had a girl swimmer in our furfam. My mother massages her legs every night before going to bed. She grew up with working legs. Sadly, she passed away 4 years ago.

All of your hard work is going to pay off! Not just for Phelps but little ones who come along after him who need help. Thank you for caring and not giving up!

What about wheel-stilts for his back legs Kinda like a wheel chair for dogs. Ive seen it work for dogs before. Home-made ones too.
Maybe surgery

I respect the dedication his caregivers to take this puppy from Phelps to. _Marchant_ (pun intended, even if it looks like an impossible mission.
