Glad to see how realistic the owners are about the cost of owning a pet. It’s ridiculously expensive and unfortunate that there’s not many veterinarians like Dr. Jeff in Colorado who gives pet owners a break when they love their pets but can’t afford to pay for the medical care they need. It’s heartbreaking to hear about pet owners having to euthanize them because they don’t have the resources.

I refused my youngest son for two years. I was only thinking of my finances and not how much he needed a best friend and companion. I was put on the spot one day and here we are about to celebrate his sweet Daisy’s 14th birthday. I have never been so happy to have been so wrong while also being ashamed at being so wrong. Every kid deserves a dog/pet.

We're just looking. We're NOT getting a dog today. Got it
And, Dad was the first one to cave. Way to go, Dad! You really stuck to your guns, let everyone know what was going to happen, and under no. Oh, what are we even saying Dad had Pushover! stamped on his forehead from the get go! But thats okay. I mean, who could ever turn down this sweet baby

Wasn’t allowed pets as a child, and haven’t been without at least two dogs for all of my adult life (I’m in my late 50s.
Judging from this video, these parents have figured out it’s not necessarily for the child, it’s to expand their family and enrich their lives ALL of their lives. Good stuff!

I have a feeling Cody was also telling himself today wasn't the day to get a dog but we saw how that went. Stella stole his heart as well as his sons! In the end he mentioned how she was returned twice to the shelter and I believe that influenced him too because he knew wouldn't do that to her.

Thank goodness we lived out in the sticks. Didn't matter what a landlord thought since we owned the farm. We got another dog while our current dog was on its last legs. It helped with training since we got a dog to guard our sheep.

It's hard not to want to adopt a pet! But sometimes you can't resist! It's that driving instinct that motivates us into taking these precious pets home! That's what happened to this family! Hopefully They both can see eye to eye!

So sweet and perfect match! You are correct. not her fault! She is just a one dog in the house kind of dog. Now if you got a puppy and she was first it might be a different story but looks like it is perfect just the way it is!

My Dad got us, me and my Brother a Beagle when I was 5 and my Brother 3. I am now 74, have spent very short periods of my life without a Dog. There will be a crowd waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. Life just sucks without a Dog!

Shelters are like prisons for animals, and it's so cruel to keep a dog caged like they do the majority of each day, and I place the blame on humans for over breeding dogs when we can't even take care of the ones we already have!

What shelter does it cost a thousand dollars to adopt a dog did anybody else catch that the dad telling the son two reasons why they could they could not bring a dog home today one that is $1, 000 investment like come on man

Asking the cat to move for the dog. Hysterical. You obviously don't know the cat mind. There is a video full of huge dogs being afraid to walk by the small cat. Find them if you can. Congratulations on your new family member.

Stella is a gorgeous pup. Congratulations. I desperately want one just like her but I just can't provide a home a dog would need right now. I pet sit for my friends all the time though. Soon hopefully that will change.

Give those nice humans some treats since the beautiful pup trained them into doing the right thing.
Always a pleasure seeing a dog being taken out of a shelter and into a loving home. Thanks for sharing.

This was such a heartwarming story! So glad this sweet boy got to adopt her. She seems so loved! So nice to see good people out there adding beautiful dogs to their lives. Dogs are pure love.

I can't walk into a shelter. I just. can't. If I do, I'd walk out with no less than a half dozen creatures needing a home. I'll just keep sending them $25 a month and love my pupper to pieces

So glad he’s not my dad! Messed up emotions he’s teaching his son. Glad the dog got a home and hopefully someone his son can form a proper bond with unlike his dad!

Pretty sure he can cut back a little on the donuts to be able to afford some dog food. Great story. She will make a great difference in that family's lifew, for the better

I wish I could get a dog - or have my 2 cats back - in my life. As a sufferer or stress and anxiety (and I recently found out PTSD too) it would help me so much.
reply

My mom told me that if I found a cat and it followed me home that I could keep it. My mom underestimated my patience. 3 cats later, she redacted this offer.
