I can so relate because I have two cockatiel birds and one of them is 17 years old and he has decided that 7: 00 a. m. is the latest I should sleep. He's in the living room and his cage next to the other one and I'm in the bedroom and I'm thinking okay it's not even daylight so I am not getting up yet and then all the sudden from the living room tweet tweet tweet tweet tweet. And unless I have the blinds completely closed but even then there's birds outside like the Blue Jays and the doves and the pigeons that are making their noise on my patio well let's just say that there's no good sleep FOR GOOD PARENTS. Just enjoy them while you have them and overlook their flaws like they do ours

Having a couple of senior citizens in your house can be a little different. It's all about routine and they love to be in charge. Our pups are wonderful though and we have had them both for 15 years now, we just introduced their new member of the pack Qoink the mini pig. Neither wanted a piece of bacon with an attitude to break up their routine but they are starting to come around and realize that senior sausage is in charge now and that we are all under new management.

We had a Daisy too and she crossed the rainbow bridge last March at almost 17 years old. She was the house boss and told us when to go go to bed too. She had such a huge personality for a chihuahua. Our hearts are still smashed over losing her. If I didn’t have my other sweet angel I would have needed meds. Enjoy every minute and all the crazy shenanigans because they leave us too soon. Give them all the hugs and kisses.

We have 2 big dogs. A tiny little terrier/chihuahua something or other got turned in as a stray in November 2022. I knew she was mine within a moment of setting eyes on her. My husband is bald, buff, and tatted to the nines. And that big softie absolutely melts for her every day. She loves her papa and he would do anything for her!

DAISY i love your name but i love you more to the moon and back! My friend had a dog named daisy. I miss her very much we had a fantastic love trust bond. At the end of the she couldn’t walk or hold her pee. I didn’t mind cleaning up. She was my beautiful girl! She will never be forgotten or replaced

Lol. our 9yr old EBT comes into the living room when we're watching telly and just stands there. He looks at us, then looks back over his shoulder. again and again!
Yeah, it's like 8. 30pm when he starts.
He's got 3 beds dotted around the house. but this means he wants to go up to 'our' bed!

This is my house, right down to the steep stairs and me with a senior pup. Ms. Belle is 15 years old, blind from cataracts and she's close to deaf, but she knows she's still the boss. Gets carried everywhere we go and she's got me wrapped around her little paw 100%. Thanks for sharing this Dodo!

Old Chihuahuas are the bestest. My Jack was 13, we lost him last year. He was a little mean, antisocial, hated everybody - he was my soul mate. When he got old he stopped wanting to go outside and just started using the litter box. Cats hated it, i thought it was hilarious

Damn I had a similar experience with a little Chihuahua Daisy I would never a fan of chihuahuas but my ex-girlfriend do I move in with had her can I fell in love with that damn dog definitely the dog I never wanted but fell in love with

Awe. My senior chi passed a coulle of months back. He'd go to the stairs and bark to be carried up to bed. And come find you and stare into your soul if you didn't come quick enough. Chis pack so much character into their little bodies.

My dog, Bella, is 14 and she thinks bedtime is at 7 PM so I can relate sometimes she’ll sleep through the night, and sometimes she gets me up anywhere between midnight and 4 AM for a potty break and a drink of water.

I love it! There are no videos on this platform other than the ones about beloved pets and their humans that make me laugh out loud, like this one, as well as cry quietly while making sure nobody sees me.

My x’s dog taught me unconditional love for a dog! I didn’t understand at that level. I always loved my pets but there’s a difference when you understand the love that comes from that magical bond!

My cat does this! He does this once afternoon rolls around every day. Every time I walk by the stairs he runs up them looking back and meowing at me because he wants me to go get in the bed with him.

Welcome to the life of Chi babies. They are always a handful. They are needy and demanding. Its pretty wild how they will ultimately get everything they desire. They are very loving effectionate dogs.

It does look like you show partiality a little bit though I seen you gave Daisy or treats then he gave the other dog and you're holding Daisy so you pay much more attention to her and that's not nice

My 17 year old Maltipoo pouts if I am still up and working or doing chores after a certain point at night. He demands that I start winding down and heading to the bedroom to put him to bed.

I know how you feel about your Daisy. I have a 6 year old rescue Chihuahua called Alfie. He is my constant companion and I never knew that I could love a dog so much. He's also the boss!
reply

I know how you feel. i have my 5 month old granddaughter on weekends while her mama works. and shes definitely the boss. my daughter always tells her shes in charge. its not a lie! Lol
reply

Yeah I'd go to bed too at 5: 00 p. m. if I knew I was getting a massage and treats. My goodness she's absolutely adorable, and we all know who's in charge in that household!
