ToraDora is the GOAT.
THE GOAT.
It's like the only romance anime where I'd been fine with Ryuuji ending up with whatever girl, plus it does everything complete right. Comedy, drama, character development, music, voice acting, making you ugly cry at the drop of three music notes. And the greatest kiss scene in all of anime. ToraDora is the pinnacle of highschool romance anime and as good as Love is War is - and it's very good - it's not on the same emotional and just. vibe level as ToraDora.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is one of the freshest anime's I've seen in my nearly 30 years of watching them. It's a breathless bit of beauty that doesn't let you know where it's going. before it gets there. and for which the journey itself is the story, not which ever demon they might encounter along the way.
Honestly, It's one of the best anime I've seen since Fullmetal Alchemist decades back.

The entire time I was watching this, I was thinking, You had better have Toradora in this list! I was delighted to not have been disappointed! Being the Hopeless Romantic that I am, the chemistry between Ryuji and Taiga kept me coming back for more, and that series' kiss scene was hands-down one of the most satisfying and romantic moments in all of anime.

I’m happy to see my OTP David and Lucy on the list. I’m so grateful that this anime not only introduced to the game but also I made several new friends and even cosplaying as David alongside with a couple of my new friends. It’s a blessing how much of an impact cyberpunk edgerunners has on me despite its heartbreaking ending

Komi and Tadano, Nagatoro and Naoto, Tomo and Jun, Uzaki and Sakurai not being on this list is criminal
Edit: These didnt make the list but Frieren and Himmel did despite not even getting to be an actual romance and was one-sided and is only referenced past episode 1 for humor gag moments. I like them too y'all but cmon now lol

I think some are pretty good but i would say shows that build relationships would be good choices. Signs of affection, Tomochan is a girl, or Im in love with the villainess are good entries. Even Nisekoi if they adapted it completely. Heck Ouran High School is a unique approach that it became self aware of itself.

That love was extremely onesided until a movie that takes place AFTER the end of the shows.
Sure. They might be cute, but even the CREATOR hates doing romance plots. Plenty of other options.

Your numbering system is all over the place for this, SAO and Sailor Moon in the bottom 10 IMO SAO doesn't belong on this list, the internet would put it higher and SM is generations and personality and still surviving

The palm-top tiger and Ryuji every time! But would also have placed Shirayuki and Zen on this list - both determinedly carving out their own paths in life, as well as figuring how to make their relationship work. Even if the anime only covered part of the so-far written manga, still a great story.

I stan Loid & Yor, Ed & Winry and Taiga & Ryuji as much as the next man but Ichikawa & Yamada and Kaguya and Shirogane are completely beyond the scope of the scale. These kids were absolutely made for each other and if I have to die defending those hills, I shall not go quietly!

Kaguya and Shirogane absolutely deserve top spot. Their romance is more complex than most in other romcoms, they come from different worlds and were capable of becoming the best version of themselves to be worthy of the other. Shirogane's confession is unmatched

to be fair, lloyd and yor have both a crush for each other 90% of the story si about alya and the other 5% are stories in solo of each one of them, and the other 5% of the story is lloyd and yor relationship, which all its stories end up with a comical plot twist

Ichikawa x Yamada got the best character development in any anime, to date. Frieren x Himmel is a tragic case of Kataomoi (Unrequited love. The lesson we can learn about Naruto x Hinata is you have to stalk your crush until he/she falls for you.

Best Romance Anime is Darling in the Franxx. After the climax of ep15 they take it slow & give us more of a personal look at the kids becoming young adults too & then there's the whole plot twist & reveal soon after that but yeah that's a love story

ngl I disagree with many on this list, bothered that they didn't put any of shirou's romances in the fate routes, also, not a well known opinion, but one that I love is adlet and fremy from rokka no yuusha
