When I got older, the way they talked about how Charlotte and Drew weren't actually going to have a baby, the way it was acted and portrayed, my brain thought, wait were they just pregnant for awhile, didn't know and have a miscarriage Because I've seen this on other dark cartoon lists, and yeah my brain kinda always thought thats what it was instead of just a wrong pregnancy test.
Also, i'll admit the the no 1 choice is creepy but. its never super super dark or anything. Honestly I feel the episode with that kid, Keef, is way darker than you remember. They legit show his eyes getting ripped out and replaced with robotic eyes.

You try coming up with an unexpectedly dark episode of _Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. _ It’s either the one where Stepney nearly meets his fate at the Smelters (Stepney Gets Lost) or the one where a former Skarloey Railway engine takes a fatal fall off the Old Iron Bridge, a story within a story whose plot provides Peter Sam’s driver and Duncan’s crew with a gambit to make Duncan regret teasing Peter Sam about his unsecured trucks/freight cars breaking away (Duncan Gets Spooked, neither of which scared me.

Of all the scary episodes from Thomas & Friends, the episode Duncan Gets Spooked is THE most scariest in my opinion as it’s the only episode in the shows history to actually show an on-screen death when a ghost engine falls off a bridge, it’s still today considered to be pretty morbid. I’m glad though WatchMojo still picked another good choice here. Stepney Gets Lost did most definitely scare me as a kid and is one gem of a spooky episode.

Stepney Gets Lost is definitely peak for being a very dark episode of an engine nearly falling to his doom - especially since scrap is a graveyard for sentient machines. I remember being so terrified of this episode in childhood along w/ the other scary S5 episodes on Spills & Chills VHS, but w/ time I overcame my fear and is another standout episode of the show (once in a lifetime event that'll never happen again in later years.

You know something that is interesting, after Hama told Katara that she is a bloodbender, the episode ends with the latter crying of how much it pains her. And yet, she decided to use it again on a fire nation soldier as revenge for the death of her mother. Which is kinda crazy yet also baffling that she wasn’t traumatized by that as she didn’t bloodbend Azula after Zuko got hit the lightning blast.

I wasn't phased by a lot of scary things when I was a kid. I even laughed at the infamous girl screaming from Courage (you know the CGI/claymotion one from the episode Courage in the Big Stinkin' City. And I used to love watching Invader Zim for the creepiness. However, Dark Harvest After seeing that episode, I made it my MISSION to avoid rewatching it. It scarred me that much

I really think the worst part of Failsafe comes in the next episode when they’re doing the therapy sessions.
After initially storming out, Superboy reveals how he felt during the simulation; happy. With everyone dying around him, he finally got to know what being Superman feels like, so he was happy, and the guilt of that crushes him.

Static shock (2000) tackled real-life issues like bullying, riots, homelessness, racism and more serious problems. Jimmy brought his dad's gun to school because he wanted the bullying to stop. This shows that a person can snap after suffering so much abuse. Bullying can bring out the worst in people.

3: 37 As a thomas fan, it's true that the classic thomas does have some dark elements. Stepney almost being scrapped got me worried as a kid.
But In my opinion, I think henry being bricked up in a tunnel takes the cake
Sorry if you think it's off topic there.

I recently started watching Courage The Cowardly Dog due to Cartoon Network re-airing their 90's shows via Adult Swim, and it was a terror ride. The 90s were so full of dark episodes, it makes me wonder if they get through if they were made today

No such luck should be on this list
It’s the worst dark scene
But I like dark scene so a atrocitie don’t have to be on the list
Only scenes like Sabrina mansion
Plesure island
And the clown from Brave little toaster 1987

Definitely glad to see the bullying episode from static shock appear on this list. It is always stuck out to me as one of the most important episodes of the series.
There’s no way a cartoon episode like that could be remade today.

I rather replace that Courage the Cowardly Dog episode with the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh episode titled Sorry, Wrong Slusher Thank you very much to those who are traumatized to see the last episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog!

I think all these are overshadowed by the amount of brutal deaths in the clone wars as well as the subject manner mostly about slavery and war crimes. Specifically in season one there was The lair grievous and trespassers

The care bears one is like how the world is today. Only a very few didn't let the change happen to them. Of you think about. You will see where I am coming from. It's sad, and I hope it goes back to where more people care.
