What other criminals have you heard of that slipped through the cracks of the law

The one with Mendez seems to be a legit dismissal based upon improper evidence; I am guessing that the district attorney used a police officer, who probably met Mendez one or two times very quickly, as the only purpose to identify him in video. That is bogus, and if that is what happened, it should be dismissed. This is a common tactic with all of the surveillance footage used in court these days, ultimately someone has to identify the person in the video and it cannot just be anyone, it has to be someone with legit personal knowledge of the person and their appearance before viewing the video; using a police officer to identify people they really do not know in video is bogus and should be prevented.

These criminals were being punished for not following certain laws and rules, shouldn’t law enforcement and prosecution be expected to do the same Most of the time it’s an honest mistake or oversight but it’s still breaking the rules. My brother used to be a private practice defense attorney. He recently accepted a job as a prosecutor. I can see him making sure these mistakes don’t happen due to him being the one who used to catch them.
I have to call the police a lot due to my job, retail. A lot of police officers tell me they try to think from the point of view of defense attorneys to try and prevent technicalities.

Everyone, including criminals, are afforded rights under the Constitution. These aren't technicalities when rights are upheld. What should be reinforced is that everyone involved in prosecuting criminals need to be diligent in upholding these rights so that they aren't violated, lest criminals are released from prison. It's a big deal when the government violates the rights of citizens; it shouldn't be happening at all, and there are consequences when it does happen.

Rodney Alcala actually won his segment of The Dating Game, but after the woman met him and talked to him one-to-one backstage, she refused to go with him because he gave her the creeps. One of the other two bachelor men also said that Alcala was a creepy guy. Law enforcement knows for a fact that Alcala killed at least three other women after his Dating Game appearance. They think the rejection might have triggered him.

Many of these cases make me mad and frustrated however the right to a speedy trial periodically does cause the guilty to go free but I personally believe it protects more folks than those it let's go free that shouldn't be freed. I believe when someone is let go because of the failure to provide a speedy trial that's a problem with the process system and the courts process not a failure in actual law.

I’m ashamed to admit that when I was a lot younger I went to prison many times, you would be really surprised how many inmates I see get released because of legal technicalities, but most were because paperwork or evidence going missing. I’ve seen all sorts get released from shoplifters to blatant guilty k! llers.

It’s the job of law enforcment and prosecutors to actually know the law so that they can prevent these technicalities. Or for politicians to remove the loopholes. The alternatives, like street justice or sentencing people when a proper case hasn’t been made would be worse options.

Cosby's case was overturned for legit reasons too. The DA in Montgomery county who wrongfully prosecuted him deserves to be in jail instead. Cosby's rights were trampled on, and if they did it to him, they would do it to any other pennsylvania resident. This was the right result

More importantly, where is the Brazilian Dexter when stuff like this happens sometimes when I hear about stuff like this makes me feel like I wonder why haven’t I done my own agenda of this kind of thing that only the Brazilian dexter Frank Castle would be doing

People who walked free: every cop who shot any civilian they feel like and call it a suicide so cops get away with it and keep the public safe even tho it’s cops that escalate situations more than the people they deal with most times

I don't think technically is the right word. It's more like governmental officials' ignorance of judicial procedures, laws, and responsibilities. Don't be mad at the judge. Be resentfu with the government thar didn't do there jobs

Honestly for the case of oj Or ( oj Simpson) he got off because of his skin color I bet and I think I'm correct about this if he was white he wouldn't be alive in society and he would either be dead or be in life for prison

Imagine getting yourself off on murder bc prostitution said it was a hate crime and you said it wasn’t and bc of that simple fact that he didn’t kill her bc of hate he was allowed to get off he admitted and had no remorse

Damn it seems someone needs to find these people and bring them to justice since the US Justice System likes to cater to these low lives. Steven Mendez lives in the Bronx Say word, I’m 30 mins away LMAO

I had no idea there were criminals who got off on technicalities. I don't believe it. Also, from another video, I learned that the woman who participated in the dating game found one of the guys creepy.

6 days is a long time in NH and ma you have to see a Jude with in 48 hours unless Saturday or Sunday or a government holidays fall in that time then those days don't count towards the 48 hours

In my opinion if a criminal is set free and harms more people afterwards, the lawyers who helped them and the judge who oversees the case are just as responsible for that as the criminal is.
reply

It’s critical to follow every rule in the book when dealing with law-breakers; otherwise, people like Bill Cosby will continue walking free.

4: 19 I’ve seen something similar in a Hawaii Five-0 episode.
Though, the accused was legitimately innocent, but the accuser didn’t care.
