I don't know about poltergeist. By today's standards it's not as scary, but it's what happened behind the scenes is what is pretty scary. And yes she was in the water with real decomposing skeletons. And no she had no I idea until later. And the little girl died shortly after the film was done are before they started with the 2nd film. Evil dead is pure terror and pretty graphic though ash vs the evil dead TV show is a pretty way to connect the 1st film. Evil dead 2 dead by dawn is the perfect mix of horror and comedy and army of darkness is just pure comedy at it best. Groovy.

Boris Karloff was small for a Frankenstein. They faked him to look bigger with camera tricks. Glenn Strange was Wookie-size in real life, so he's the biggest Frankenstein. Darth Vader was the Hammer Frankenstein, bigger than Karloff but a couple inches smaller than Strange. Fred Gwynne was Vader height, but platform boots made him Strange's height.

Not a Movie But 1000 Ways To Die (2008-2012) This Late 2000's Horror Comedy anthology was a huge show regardless of the dark Campy made for TV tone loosley based on real deaths with plenty of blood and gore not to a Game Of Thrones level

Honestly, my safe horror movies are ones with no SA or baby death. I know what i can handle and I can't handle.
All these movies are great, especially Cabin in the Woods and the Scream series. Id include Jordan Peele movies and Abigail

Mmmmmmmmmm I'm not sure for the cabin in the woods there's an entire scene we're all the monsters getting released and everyone dies In the most graphic way possible and leaves an impressive amount of blood I don't wanna call that safe

I'm surpised the movie What Lies Beneath isn't on the list. Although Poltergeist when I was young scared the crap out of me. I remember my younger Brother and I taking shifts at night so one of us was always awake just in case.

Your first and last choices are in the same franchise! Army of Darkness is a continuation of Evil Dead, with Ash as the main character in all of them. Not saying those are bad choices, but just. duplicate, maybe

A Quiet Place - Phenomenal acting, directing, sound design It is a horrible pile of garbage. It in all cringy trash, it is not a good movie. Never heard anyone say that it was; well, not until now.

Freaky starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton. Dubbed as horror but half the time it's more comedy with generic body horror (but in a fake way) than scary

Cabin in the Woods is one horror movie I’d recommend for beginners. It’s scary, but not scare you so bad your heart leaps out of your chest scary

Ladies, be honest. How many of you changed in front of your bedroom window for the neighborhood to see That trope has never made sense to me.

One movie that was expecting to be safe, and ended up being scary as hell was IT 2017. That thing right in the opening scared the shit out of me

They do realize that the first Evil Dead installment is still rated NC-17 and was previously banned in multiple countries right

Thirteen ghosts and Trick or Treat are other good recommendations. I'm not much of a horror Andy but those are manageable
