Some say that Mortal Kombat 1 was ruined when it went multiversal, some say it was how rushed the concept was, but what ruined the franchise for me was the fact that they ruined Shang Tsung's MK11 Aftermath ending.
If you've played Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, then you'll noticed that the game had the option where you could decide who would ultimately rule the New Era: Fire God Liu Kang or Shang Tsung.
In Liu Kang's ending, he defeats Shang Tsung and creates his New Era and peace and prosperity, leading to the events of MK1.
In Shang Tsung's ending, he absorbs Fire God Liu Kang's soul, becomes a Titan, creates his New Era, and launches a conquest against all the realms; it then ends with Raiden and Fujin telling Titan Shang Tsung that Earthrealm, Outworld, and Netherrealm had been conquered and that Chaosrealm and Orderrealm (which had hardly been explored since Deception by the way) were next.
You get the picture The ending hinted at the possibility of a What if Shang Tsung won in Aftermath kind of game where Chaosrealm and Orderrealm are the last line of resistance and the only hope left in stopping Titan Shang Tsung's tyranny. And, in all honesty, that would've been the PERFECT game! (Just have Tecmo-Koei/Omega Force make the game in the style of Dynasty Warriors, create some brand new Chaosrealm/Orderrealm-originated Kombatants, have them fight with/against the Klassic Kombatants we know and love, and the game is complete)
But then, MK1 revealed that not only did BOTH Fire God Liu Kang and Titan Shang Tsung both create their own universes. but that Titan Shang Tsung is now eyeing to conquer Liu Kang's universe.
Basically, if they weren't going to continue Shang Tsung's Aftermath ending, then NRS should not have ACTED like there WERE (OR, at the very least, they should've left Shang Tsung's Aftermath ending open to the imagination. This means that my What if Shang Tsung won in Aftermath dream game will never be made because we obviously know how it's going to end: Titan Shang Tsung conquers Chaosrealm and Orderrealm then sets his sights on Liu Kang's universe (and YES, by the way: I'm saying universe, NOT timeline.
Why couldn't Shang Tsung's Aftermath ending just end with Raiden and Fujin saying that ALL realms (including Chaosrealm and Orderrealm) were now under Titan Shang Tsung's control (annihilate all hope in Titan Shang Tsung being stopped. THEN the multiverse concept wouldn’t piss me off so much. Instead, Titan Shang Tsung's Aftermath ending led to NOTHING. And THAT felt like the BIGGEST missed opportunity in Mortal Kombat history to me (especially considering how little popularity Mortal Kombat has in Japan.

Nah, bro (or his writer) got it wrong with Borderlands. Lilith had been sucking down raw Eridium for years to enhance her powers. That already made her insanely powerful. Then, to get her powers back she had to suck them out of Tyreen who had basically become a god by then, taking her power with it in the process. On top of that, and this is where my memory might falter (it's been a while since I played) so correct me if I am wrong, but I think she even got all of Troy's power in the process. So yeah, by then she might as well be the effin' phoenix from the x-men with all the power she's rocking lol.

Assassin's Creed Isu problem seems more like your problem than franchise problem, the fact that you don't understand it doesn't mean that people with more IQ have the same problem
Also Isu is hardly the biggest problem of AC, it's actually Ubisoft doing all the wrong things around their games, not in them specifically

Borderlands wasn't ruined by its own lore. It was ruined by bad writers sacrificing two of the most popular/well-known characters to push a spoiled brat. Nobody wants Ava in Borderlands. For Gearbox to then release scenes in DLC that would have actually made Ava a lovable character is just another insult to the fans.

As much as I love Resident Evil, I’m very surprised it’s not on the list.
The story has broken off into so many different directions, looped around, remade, retconned I’m surprised Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker aren’t cousins.

With Borderlands 3, Anointed were granted those powers by Troy. And that stuff with Lilith in Borderlands 2, would’ve been a pretty boring game if she actually eliminated Handsome Jack by chucking him into the sun.

I really thought Assassin's Creed turned into a mess. I found the lore really fascinating initially particularly when Desmond was the main character but it's all over the place now.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to mention it but, that bit about Fable is all wrong, there is a 600 year gap between the first two games, you are not the child of the Hero from 1.

Kingdom Hearts a game that started strong but once again Square Enix completely screwed up it's story with pointless spin-offs and way too long time to make the Trilogy.

Final Fantasy - After Final Fantasy 10 the series just started to fall off instead of being about saving the world, Square Enix lost sight about what game was about.

Dude they were doing so great with Borderlands and then the story for Borderlands 3 drop and ever since then the games they are making are hot or miss in terms of story.

Guild Wars 2. They literally locked a part of the lore connecting the base game and first expansion behind an EVENT that later became a separate pay wall.

Fnaf is like the Saw franchise when it comes to adding more lore, Jigsaw dies in part 3 and like 8 or more films keep popping up.

Spyro: Shadow of Legacy might count, as it was the one that destroyed the original canon, before Reignited Trilogy brought it back.
