Tiktok is obsessed with hot rollers and so am i! This is how you use them. Sarah: Brad, I sort of agree with you about the top roller in the front but, since the 1970s I would pull the hair vertical then roll forward so that I'd get some height in the front. Sometimes I'd have a permanent but other times no perm so I needed that little more height for my super straight hair. In addition, I would take a moment with the hairdryer to heat the roots, again so to get some height. Just a thought. Hot rollers are the best way to get lots of curl without taking too much time. Once my rollers were in, I go eat breakfast giving plenty of time for the rollers to get cold.

Pretty sure those are the rollers I bought when I started getting my hair colored. My aunt has always used rollers & curling wands scare me, I'm positive I would burn myself. Shortly before I went to get my hair down I was watching one of these videos where he said he loved rollers so I knew even if someone laughed about me using rollers I could just say well a high falutin NYC hair dresser loves them so

I just bought these remington pearl ones because they were on clearance for $9. I'm skeptical they'll work on my 3b curly ethnic hair succesfully and I actually went to cosmetology school. Came to see how these work and if they use any moisture, like steam or misting which will revert curl and that's the first thing he did.

I used to love my hot rollers, I got a set for Christmas when I was 16 (I'm 28 now) they were great for me at the time because I wasn't very good with a curling wand. I still have them, they haven't been used in years though so I hope they still work because I'm defo digging them back out now

Idk, I feel like youre teaching a class and Brad sounds so informal lol.

I used to use hot rollers every day, at one stage in my life long ago, but stopped because my hair started breaking. I didnt know what a heat protectant was, though - I dont think that was as big of a thing back then. Plus, every day was probably a bit much.

Are hot rollers less damaging than a curling iron? I have very fine textured hair, but lots of it. I am trying to grow it back out but I hate how flat it is, but I love rollers. Do you all experience any damage with hot rollers and heat protectant?

Way back in the 90s and early 2000's when I was in school I used hot rollers in my long blonde hair almost everyday! My hair is really short now so I can't use them. Honestly. It's nice to see hot rollers are making a come back again

I used to put hot rollers in my hair all the time in the 90's as a teenager.
It's so easy and they make beautiful curls!
Btw. you don't have to straighten your hair first lol. Just comb or brush out then roll; )

I just feel old now XD lol. My mom only used hot rollers, then I started using then too. This was in the 90's, why did it take 30 years for everyone else to see how awesome hot rollers are. life is interesting lol.

I MISSSSSSS the 80s hot rollers! I wish I wouldve kept mine! The ones I have are Conair and they literally are useless! You put them in and they dont even curl. What did they do with the REAL HOT ROLLERS!

Gorgeous hair! Is there any difference if I do this look with a curling iron? I feel hot rollers and curling iron give similar result? How different would it be? I looove this look!
reply

Lol Uhm If youre burning your hands doing that, Ill just stick to a curling iron/wand and just pin the curls and do my makeup while the curls are cooling off. I have a lot of hair.
