Her rubbing olive oil all up her arms is UTTERLY gross. I gagged watched that. It does not matter that olive oil is good for your skin. In what way was that okay, let alone sanitary? Coconut Oil is good for hair, and Black people use it that way every day. But tell me. how would this video be perceived if a Black Woman ( or many other Brown cultures) preceded to grease her hair and scalp with coconut oil before doing a cooking demonstration? Demonstrating alternate uses for olive oil belongs in a SEPARATE video. And, I must say, it is the epitome of white privilege and indulgence to think its perfectly fine to grease up arms and hands just before handling food. Just gross. Who even knows what the recipe was?

Just made this and let me tell you all- DO NOT HEAVILY SALT THE PASTA WATER. I used half a cup of salt (because thats what it looked like she used and i trust Carla so i went HEAVY) and the sauce is ruined. Its so salty that the flavors are overshadowed by it. Im going to make it again without as much salt and see how it goes. : )

I think I truly sympathize with Carla's hatred of angel hair pasta. Although, weirdly, the first time I ever ate angel hair was also the first time I'd ever eaten pesto (Alla Genovese. I think angel hair works when the sauce is just as light and delicate as the pasta, and you don't smother the pasta in sauce. Don't at me.

I tried this recipe and used about 1/3 cup of salt in my pasta water since she said 1/4 - 1/2. It was way too much salt and my partner and I could hardly eat it. Were going to try again with minimum salt in the water and then seasoning to taste afterwards

I love that you have reminded the world that pesto Genovese is just one kind of pesto. Also, this ep gave me the best idea for a fusion dish in which pasta meets Indian coriander, peanut, coconut chili pepper chutney, which is basically a pesto.

speaking of true crimes, what on earth is a stand mixer doing hanging out on the floor test kitchen? Is this the low level of basic sanitation we should be expecting from your cooking. not even joking I just lost some respect there

Why do you use kosher salt in everything? What IS kosher salt really? I've never heard it being used in my country, neither other countries here in Europe, but it seems to be the norm in America? Can someone explain the difference to me?

I made this yesterday but it ended up too lemony and too salty from the pasta water. Left it in the fridge bc I needed a bit of inspiration to improve it. Today i fxed by sauteing a bunch of veggies and it was really good
