Kudos to Brad and Bon Appetit for not shying away from the reality of where meat comes from. Like they alluded to, pork in the grocery store doesn't just magically appear there. At the end of the day, humans are meant to be omnivorous predators. And, while we should make all efforts towards being humane in the raising and slaughtering of animals for food, we also shouldn't feel ashamed about it. Happy 4th everyone

I think my favorite part about his trip to Hawaii is the fact that he was so eager to do things in the traditional Hawaiian way. He wanted to go hunting and do what the natives would do, and he wanted to show that to the world. I love this aspect of this series, its just so caring of other cultures.

These Hawaii videos are really great. Not only do they show the beauty of the islands, but also the passion to uphold, pass down, pass on and educate about the identity, language, culture & traditions of the Hawaiian people which is an increasingly homogenised world is a fantastic thing.

As someone who is a plant based eater this is all I and many others like me want. We dont want to control what others eat. We want people to recognize that they are taking a life and to celebrate and respect the life that was taken to keep you and your family alive.

That little girl's prayers just touched my heart. The mythology the religion and the traditions that Hawaiian people live by tells you how connected they are to earth and their environment and their fellow humans. Truly amazing culture, thanks Brad for sharing this.

Thank you Bon Appetit for producing a truly awesome and heartwarming episode. As Brad said, these families are the real deal. I watch a ton of BA videos and this one I've got to say is special because it involves so many hands, love, and life.

Best pork I ever had was on the big island. There was a dude on the side of the road who was selling sausages and pulled pork. He did the same thing they were doing and IT WAS SO GOOD I NEED MORE NOW DAMN TIME TO GO TO HAWAII.
