Join editor at large Amiel Stanek as he attempts to cook a potato in almost every way possible. Which method is the best? Is it juiced potatoes? No, it's definitely not juiced potatoes. But maybe it's worth trying because life is for living and it's good for you. Or maybe not, because it is absolutely disgusting

He left out the best way to make mashed potatoes: HAND MIXER. Don't do it with a masher (too much effort, ricer (too smooth, also nobody has a ricer, or a kitchenaid (not enough control)--just put the butter, milk, cut up potatoes, and any seasonings in a bowl and whip it all up with an electric hand mixer. It incorporates a little bit of air to keep everything fluffy and doesn't overwork the potatoes like a kitchenaid does, and you can make it as smooth or chunky as you want. It is possible to overmix them, but since you have control as well as power, it's easier to stop before you get to that point. It's also easier to turn skin-on red or gold potatoes into mashed potatoes using this method.

Fun fact: If you crank up the electrocution method for the potato to about 3000 Volts you'll end up with a test for a new kind of cancer treatment called Irreversible Electroporation. Sticking probes in a potato and sending electricity through it at certain time intervals is exactly how we test whether it works or not in the lab.

Is it me? Or is it that most of these methods werent executed well. Like he really didnt truly attempt to cook them properly each time. You know like roasted potatoes were so huge and not seasoned and how often did he turn them or toss them in the oven

Sad not to see chunky French fries made by boiling, cooling, then fried at a high heat. Similar to the frozen fried fries, but you get SO much crisping - I thought they were battered the first time I tried them. Honestly hands down the best way to cook fries

I'm watching this while eating some quick and dirty Toaster Oven Hash Browns. It seems to be helping, as I'm imagining each Lil' Brown to taste per what I see on screen. I think I've discovered an entirely new way to flavor foods: subliminally.

Our hand-made mashed potato is way smoother n creamier than yours? It isn't that hard as long as you know how to make itOn the other hand, I heard Tickled Potato instead of Pickeled at 12: 40 so who knows maybe I'm just crazy lmao

feels very biased on some methods. though some turned out good. but he sounded very annoyed and disgusted by it. especially the air fryer. he only sound positive on the traditional ones before even cooking them

Microwave oven is fine for potatoes. He did it wrong. Microwave for 5 minutes per potato then take out, rub with butter, a little salt, and wrap with foil. Let sit for about 5 - 10 minutes. Done.

I dont know, but when things say PREHEAT, does that mean let it heat to that then put whatever in and let it cook for a set amount if time, or just put it in start to finish

Ew. i know i am probably the only Person but the only tasty way to make mashed potatos is the first way. Everything after that just reminds me of the tasteless instant box mashed potatos
