Hawa, if you see this I need help My grandmother lived and worked in Tanzania as a nurse in the 50s and while she was there she picked up a beef curry recipe and the optional toppings were chopped onions, chopped peanuts, shredded coconut and bananas. I have failed to find a similar looking recipe online and she has now passed away plus my sister accidently threw the recipe away. Not that we could read her recipes anyway, her handwriting was crazy hard to read. We called it a curry but I don't remember it ever having a huge kick to it so it may have been more of a stew? I am hoping that Tanzania, Somalia and Mozambique have similar enough stews/curries (the bananas give me hope) that you might be able to help if you see this.

Voice audio is really painful to listen to which probably has something to do with the microphones that are used. It's almost like a high frequency distortion. I haven't experienced it withother videos but issues with audio seem to be commonplace in all the most recent videos. Maybe you guys can do some research into this so we can get a better listening experience?

Wonderful video, featuring a great new chef bringing a west African dynamic, and highlighting BA's awesome supportive team dynamic throughout Like some cilantro with your dish? It appears Normally have your dish with a banana? TWO bananas appear Sounds like a great dish as well. Great to hear that people in the comments are trying it.

I would buy your sauce if I could (I live in Canada, but loved this episode and will definitely be trying the stew I read your story on the Basbass foods website, and I can't imagine how hard it must have been for your family to make that decision to separate. I am glad to hear you are all doing well: )

Ok, I freaking love this girl. She's so relaxed, her energy is approachable and positive. I love the stories she told, her glowing pride in her heritage and the history behind the spices. I love how she opened me up to a cuisine I've not had before. Please, please keep her around, BA.

I dont use ghee because, obviously, I live in New York City and I dont want to add extra fat wear, you know, I dont need it. - What does that even mean? Every Indian and Pakistani in New York City is frowning at you right now.

OMG I wangt more with Hawa. She seems so nice and nervous and passionate about the food she's making. Also can she drop her skincare routine because she is glowing.
