Can you please make a veggie burger that is vegetable based? Years ago, like, in the late 90s- early 00s there were very few places that made veggie burgers & the few that did only offered a salad roll but the buns were toasted. But there were a couple of places that had a veggie patty (nothing like the crappy Subway patty) that had peas, corn, carrots & was probably potato based if I remember correctly. These things tasted soooo good So much so that I converted many meat eaters to the occasional veggie burger. by choice Unfortunately I cant find those veggie burgers anywhere & the couple of fish & chip places that used to offer them dont exist anymore. Not everyone who doesnt eat much meat wants a hardcore vegan patty made of tofu, soy, mushrooms or lentils How do people expect to convince meat eaters to eat less meat when the options look, sound & taste so gross?

I have my doubts about the recipe after trying it out, although without the miso. Understandibly miso is pretty flavourful due to the fermentation and all. But just having miso and a little bit of garlic for that amount of lentils sounds a tad underwhelming (oh and paprika. In my experience lentils don't have a strong flavour on their own, if the one you can get are different please let me know. I went for some cumin and worcestershire sauce and 3 times the amount of garlic. In the end it was alright, but it wasn't worth the effort. I am curious about anybody who has tried the recipe with the miso. Does the miso pull a magic trick and shape the burger into a mouthwatering dish? It could be that i simply don't like lentils enough. Well thanks for reading and have a nice day: )

I tried using chickpea flour and it worked well. They were slightly mushy but that could have been for a number of reasons. I did: can of lentils, 1 large portabello mushroom, garam masala, blackbean sauce, garlic paste, chickpea flour. I had to finely dice it all up with a knife as I didn't have a masher or a blender - but it wasn't that bad. I had a left over pattie (cooked) and found that the next day it was firmer. I warmed it up in the oven and I think it came out the perfect consistency. Maybe it might make sense to twice-cook them to drive out the extra moisture? I think a small amount of grated carrot and maybe some smashed green peas might be nice too.

Hi Chris, absolutely loved the video Ive been vegan for almost 3 years now and Ive spent many a night struggling with unruly handmade vegetable patties that love to fall apart in the pan. Lentil patties, when made well, are definitely my favorite. You mentioned using egg as a binder for the patty, we sometimes use flaxseed and water to create an egg substitute for baked goods or other dishes. Would be interested to see what veggie burger you could create with an egg substitute like flaxseed. My boyfriend and I are avid fans of yours

I would totally watch that movie. I see Carla as the angry police chief who frequently yells out you two, my office, NOW, Molly as the corrupt cop working with Brad who's the ring leader, Priya as the bartender at the bar where a fight will inevitably ensue and Claire. actually I can't imagine Claire in a cop movie. Or perhaps she owns the bakery where Chris and Andy get their coffee and doughnuts.

I'm sure the sound guy is nice and all but the end result on your videos recently is so unpredictable and poor. This video its quiet for 80% and then super quiet for the other 20% closed captions cant even pick up whats being said and neither can I. Other videos it bounces around every 20 seconds from super loud to quiet. Something is not right.

Just so its clear; if you use whole milk yogurt in your veggie burger, it is not a vegan burgerAnd if you say its vegan, and then tell people to replace the yogurt with vegan mayo or vegan yogurt in defense of criticism for saying it was vegan in the first place, you cant do that LOLIts not vegan, dont say it is

the audio effects are horribly loud so we only have two choices, listening to chris and highly increasing our chances of becoming deaf or just keeping our hearing senses and not understanding anything chris is saying. (i chose to sacrifice my hearing because I LOVE lentil burgers and chris)

I've never tasted anything that Chris has ever made, I don't know the guy at all but I totally trust this mans tastes buds. What ever he makes I believe is delicious. The way everyone asks him to taste their food, you have to believe this man makes some great food.
