How a Master Craftsman Makes Korean Wooden Balwoo Bowls Handmade

Jung, Sang Gil, is one of few expert Balwoo bowl makers left in Korea. The wooden bowls, originally used by Buddhist monks, are entirely handcrafted from chopping the wood, to carving the shapes, to sanding, to staining, and more and are cut and finished with care to fit perfectly inside one another. Bat: Marvelous craftsmanship and attention to detail, but they only make 10 30-bowl sets per year. 300 bowls per year is less than a bowl per day with two months off. I wonder how much they charge for these exquisite sets.
