Today we visit Young Gun winner Maya Lovelaceowner and operator of Portland, ORs Mae restaurantfor a tour of her favorite neighborhood spots Jonas: I don't really get the point of these videos. It would have been interesting if we saw her place, what it has to offer and why she won. Instead we get to briefly see some places she likes but there is no explanation of what makes them special. An example: we see what looks like the kind of cup of coffee you could get anywhere plus a glass with a couple of scoops of ice cream in it. She says that that was awesome but that doesn't explain what sets it apart from other places. Do they make their own ice cream? What makes it special? It doesn't have to be an hour long documentary - this just leaves me none the wiser.

You could have got at least 10 minutes of footage with 4 places. Talk about the coffee for more than a second, you went to a russian restaurant and ordered like 10 interesting looking dishes, show me them. I want to know what was inside those empanadas and fried balls. I want to see the food, I don't really care about a group of friends in Portland, if the video is about the Portland neighbourhood, you could have at least walk down a few blocks, show me what people like to do.

The sponsored videos leave a lot to be desired. Give me more than 5 seconds at a place. Show me more than a glancing shot of an interesting dish. Don't converse at all if it's scripted in the most corny of ways. I know this is a unique one with someone who isn't REALLY a host, but Eater really needs to stick to what it does best; focusing on the food, the story, and the host. for longer than a hiccup.

I've only visited Portland once and if I ever moved somewhere else it'd probably be Oregon. The people are nice, food is awesome and weather is beautiful. But with that being said, this chick didn't do anything to actually promote the area

This video is so cringe worthy and camp af. I'm not sure if Eater knows who their audience is, and if they do, they're extremely conflicted. This isn't ABC we aren't 70 years old we don't need things to be presented in this way.

Everyone in this video looks like the worst white person. Like literally prices of shit. Like if you poke them, you'll crack an outer gelatin hull and nothing but loose stool will pour out of the breech.

Growing up in Portland, NONE of these places were around or encapsulates Portland. Go to Stumptown, walk the waterfront, go on a hike up tabor. That is Portland.

All heavy or sweet foods. And the editing was all people not focusing on the places they were at. This was a people eating video not a venue/food one.

The couple was cute and seemed pretty enthusiastic, so why was this only 3 minutes long and nothing was really said about the food? C'mon Eater.

If you don't like the video, that's fine. But guys please don't be hurtful and say mean things about their appearance. You're better than that
