China imported its rice from South Carolina way back when. If you think that is weird: they don't really eat that much rice in China! If you ask for it you are insulting the host/cook. I would love to get my hands on some Carolina Gold grown in South Carolina. along the Atlantic shore just like those true low country days. alas the shore is eroding to quickly.

this left me wanting more. I would like to hear about some of the specific ingredients he has brought back and the stories behind them. I would also like to see a comparison of old and new Low Country food.

Excellent short film. This gent is super interesting. Would love to hear his thoughts on modern lowcountry cuisine promoted by the many popular restaurants and chefs of Charleston.
