Los Angeles might just have the fanciest 3 A. M. late night meal destination in Pacific Dining Car. The steakhouse opened back in 1921, and even though its an upscale restaurant, its open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In this episode of Cult Following, host Serena Dai goes to the restaurant with certified Pacific Dining Car fan (and Dining on the Dime host) Lucas Peterson to see what makes it so special

My general indifference toward Serena's hosting talent has become sour after watching Lucas carry this episode. If the camera hadn't framed her once in awhile, I would have thought I was watching Dining on a Dime. Serena may have started the show, but contributed almost nothing more. One wonders whether her speaking parts were cut. And if so, was it because they were insignificant next to Lucas's responses? (More likely she couldn't keep up with his conversational prowess) Heck, my attention was less on the food and more on his great and fun anecdotes. It's true that I didn't count how many times he spoke compared to how many times she spoke. But by the end, I felt informed entirely by Lucas. A good host let's an interviewee shine, of course, but should still be relevant. Here, he had all my attention and I completely forgot about Serena.

At first I couldn't understand the hate for Serena. Then I watched a few episodes and noticed that she can never complement her guests well when it comes to collaborative reviewing. Her descriptions are lacking, and she generally looks so confused and dumbfounded as to what she's even doing regarding the show. Please don't give her another season.

I enjoy Eater so much! I also adore Serena Daiexcept for her vocal fryit's so distracting. And, excuse me, I know this is not without bite, but it makes you sound like a vapid valley girl. PLEASE work on just talking. Forget that uptalk vocal fry, please, please, please! You'll sound so much better! TY

Lucas! lol. is my boy is putting on a bit of celebrity weight? But ok, my thing with this place is. In NYC it makes sense cause you could be leaving the club/bar at 4am - 4: 30am or something. If everything is closed in LA so earlier, who is out at 5am to even go here?

How do we make 'Cult Following' better? Add Lucas Peterson. Then have him do all the major talking, interviewing and explanations. Then have Serena repeat what he says in slightly different wording. Brilliant!

Lucas: [explains how it's rare to have a place in LA for late night dining]Serena: A 24 hour place seems REALLY UNIQUE TO ME. We can always count on Serena to give us that valuable personal insight.

Serena, please wear a shirt where you're not trying to stage a fashion mishap. You are not the Denzel character in Training Day and you can tell that Lucas feels the same.

Re: Serena DaiLooking at the comments, it seems others agree. You can't quite put your finger on why she annoys until you realize it's that vocal fry at the end of EVERY sentence!

During that interview, I was waiting for Serena to say something but then I realized she was trying to remember what egalitarian meant after Lucas used it in a sentence.

Th only reason I watch this series is to read the comments of how bad Serena is. it's a little sad for her but its very entertaining. Also yay Lucas!
