Have you ever wondered why most people put milk and sugar in their coffee? Its to soften the bitter and acidic notes that are released with hot brewing. The magic of cold brew is that without hot water, none of those acidic notes are released. The catch? Cold brew takes way more time. Heres how to set up a cold brew machine in your office, so that every morning you can start off with a cup or two

How is this better than say. Taking just 1 water bottle and putting coffee grounds in it, fill with water, put the cap on and sit it overnight. Next morning just filter it through a coffee filter into your mug. done. Or if you need a fancy machine a cold brewer or french press costs literally 10-15 bucks.

Ok. FIRST thing it's Acids NOT bitterness, that come out when you Hot brew coffee. SECOND the Coffee grounds have to sit in water 8 to 12 hours at room temperature or cold (in the fridge)[depends on your preference] before you can filter the coffee.

Someone please explain to me how cold water releases the aromatics from the coffee, - compared to cooking, where warm temperatures are releasing the aromatics. fx. if you are roasting your spices on a pan to really open up the aromas.

There is something funny about a guy who talks about how expensive coffee appliances can be and how they are not needed and then proceeds to use a thousand dollar coffee grinder

or you can make it for home use. just take couple of coffee filters from your office and make it at home. that fancy coffee maker on Office is such a waste if we didn't use it

Ironic that eater's office doesn't just have a cold brew tap. Most startup's have it. FFS that water bottle was a tea's tea bottle which I have in our office kitchen too.

I just wrap my ground coffee beans in the filter to make little coffee pouches. Then refrigerate them in a jar of sugar water for 24 hrs. PERFECT every time!
