I make microwaved grilled cheese by first toasting my bread in a toaster, then I butter both sides of the toast, (but it's just as good if you just butter the toast on one side, then I put two kinds of cheese on it and put the toasts together to form a sandwich and pop it into the microwave on high for 40 seconds. The cheese is ooey- gooey and there is only the plate you heat it on to clean up, (use a paper plate and you have nothing to clean up. No frying pan or stove needed if you're in a dorm, only a microwave and a toaster. I've done this since I was a kid and it's delicious.

Why are people saying this is too much effort? You literally just slip it in a sleeve and throw it in a microwave. How is that too much effort? It takes less time than any other method (other than just eating it cold, which I love for some pizzas but not for all) and is more effective. However, the fact that he ate the pizza crust-first is a sin and makes it completely understandable that there are so many dislikes on this video.

Real pizza fans know your reheat pizza by getting your toaster oven preahted red hot pizza goes in 45s-1m30s depending on cheese meltiness preference. Then it goes straight in to preheated med/hi cast iron pan for another 30s-1m. This results in reheated pizza perfection. Can actually improve quality of most delivered pizzas by using the cast iron pan for 30s-1m to re-crisp the dough.

Try the defrost setting instead of high. Gives time for the steam to dissipate. Yes, it takes longer but gives satisfactory results without external crisper you have to buy or salvage. For even better results place the pizza on a microwave bacon cooker that has a raised grid to let the grease run away from the bacon. This lets the steam from the crust exit even better.

i dunno why so much hate on this video. yeah its ridiculous to actually use this method, but this series is about cookin in the office. with limited supplies. perhaps eater shouldve done a better job of explaining the series up front in every video. maybe get an intro theme song and title?

I reheat my cold pizza in a cast iron skillet. Turn on the skillet as soon as you wake up, after about 6 minutes place pizza in skillet, then turn off skillet and let the pizza heat up for a few minutes. Works a charm. By the time my morning coffee is done brewing, my pizza is done.

I genuinely feel like this is more effort that just using a frying pan for either of these, which would give you better results and not require those silly sleeves. I understand that this works as a neat little science experiment, but little else.

Would have been cool to compare this Hot Pocket sleeve technique to the popular method of using a regular toaster flipped on its side to reheat pizza slices and to make cheese toast. Reheating pizza in a flipped toaster seems to work quite well.

good idea for the stoner mcguyver types. but you are using new hot pocket sleeves. how would you heat up your hot pocket in the first place? whenever i eat hot pockets. the sleeves are eventually ripped to take out the hot pocket

Why is there not a product in stores that capitalizes on these receptors? It could be like disposable boxes that you put your food in that has these receptors inside the box and you put the box with the food in the microwave.
